If anything I respect a coach for not pressuring healthy young adults who are not at risk anyway to get experimental shots that aren’t even approved.

There are reasons that coach Kiffin comes out and says his team is 100% vaccinated or why coach Saban tells the press his team is at 99.9%. The coaches want a normal season, they want fans in the stands at full capacity. They want to lower testing protocol standards for their players. They want to play football at their best.

At this point, it's not just about what you know or personally feel about the vaccine. It's about playing the game and the cards each head coach is given to get through what looks like another year with COVID. This is a business and these coaches have to cater to public perception that sends the right message to the fans and their health and players alike. Smart coaches get the big picture.

All of the AL.com people are liberals who think they’re smarter than the rest us. They continually write articles or commentary mocking the people, governor, etc. of Alabama about the low vaccine rate. Who’s the dumb one who apparently knows better but stays here?

I think it’s funny that AL.com did away with their comment ability for the reader. I’m sure it’s because it was all negative toward their staff.

This thread was bound to get political. I would note that I'm politically conservative and I think coaches like Kiffin and Saban, who encourage their team to be vaccinated, are smarter than coaches who don't.

Ed Orgeron took a political stance last year. His team finished 5&5 and sucked hugely.

I like Alabama football more than I do politics. If that makes me shallow, then so be it.

They said it was due to budget so they wouldn't have to pay anyone to moderate the boards/articles.

Sounds like they deserve to be mocked, honestly.

If auburn players, who are vaccinated at 60%, start testing positive and have to forfeit games, I can't imagine very many barner fans forgiving this guy.

Therein lies the problem..and the chances of it occurring are very high!
To me, it doesn't show a very astute mindset for any coaches approaching this season.

There most certainly are people who have gotten it twice.

The dude who wrote that article needs to take his blood pressure meds and not get so triggered when people don’t do what he wants.

Clearly. The comment section was negative back then. I can’t imagine it now. It would take away from their narratives.

One scenario is a reduced game attendance, while the other is where teams actually forfeit games!...see the difference?

LOL. Posters on this board get triggered when people have the gall to opine that their team won't be awesome

You have to understand that Al.com is owned by Advance Publications which is a ultra liberal outfit from the northeast. F um.

I don't see where businesses, or Universities, or head coaches have to be into politics to be politically correct when it comes to this virus. You send the right message to fans, players, their families, that you care about everyone's health in a pandemic. It's just good business. And it's the right thing to do.

I'm not reading a preachy article about why a coach should force a player to make a health decision. The truth is that the other coaches care more about the player missing the game then they do about their health.

It doesn't say that at all. It does challenge his failure to lead by example.
