It was overall a great game. Ended around 12:30am as I recall. I had to teach Sunday school at 8:30am the next morning. Don't think we got home till close to 3am.

If the stars qould have aligned right and Matt Jones could have been QB when McFadden, Jones and Hillis was there and Malzahn calling the plays it would have been Nebraska next level unstoppable.

And HDN was trying as hard as he could to Bench Matt Jones and play Ryan Sorahan…see first half.

They still needed a passing game to win. Teams would put eight or nine in the box each down and stop an over conservative offense.

If Arkansas had real coaching like Butch Davis and a real OC then they would be explosive. Tarvaris Jackson wouldn't have transferred and would put Jones at WR. This would open the offense more as defenses cannot load the box.

Nutt was trying to get a passing game going and put Jones at WR. But he wouldn't give up his role as OC and find a good OC/QB coach. His lack of QB development forced him to stick with Jones.

Ever since Clint Stoerner left, the passing game was terrible.

Definitely an instant classic. I was at UK then, and I was working that night. We all stopped what we were doing to watch OT unfold. Total heartbreak, but one of the best SEC games ever for sure.

That team went 7-5. Arkansas lost to Oklahoma 10-3 in the Cotton Bowl with one of the worst Arkansas offensive performances in Arkansas bowl history. 50 total yards and gave up nine sacks.

It was like 5 degrees and 50 mile wind. I froze my arse off. Oklahoma only scored 10. Miserable

Arkansas had a good defense that year but began SEC play 0-3.
