A&M is regressing with Jimbo and they paid $75 million. Imagine being them

At least at 75 million bought them something that Arkansas can only dream of.

Hope.

However misplaced it might be.

Why not Bill Clark? He literally built a program from scratch.

When Sam Pittman left

This is the right answer.
In 2015, his last year, Arkansas was ranked 2nd in the nation in offense success rate. And that is just 3 years removed from the petrino/John L debacle. Had we fielded a defense it would have been a 10 win season

When Arkansas muffed that punt in the 2006 SECCG.
Haven't been the same since.

Then again maybe it was the night Petrino wrecked on HWY 16.

When the Jap's bombed Pearl Harbor and Bear Bryant joined the military instead of becoming the head coach at Arkansas. He had just agreed to it when it happened. Broyles did well with the Holtz hire, but couldn't stand Holtz outshining him. Then he shite in Jimmy Johnson's face that wanted this job BAD. Broyles had essentially promised him his dream job at his alma matter if he got head coaching experience. He did at OSU. Broyles hired Hatfield before he even interviewed Johnson. Johnson recalled getting a suit and being PUMPED to interview...only to find out it was just a charade and the Hatfield hire had already taken place. He got his vengeance while at the U. Then we hired Danny Ford when Barry Switzer was begging for the job. Wouldn't hire Switzer because of his history. So, we hire Switzer Lite. Then when he went away, we hired Nutt over Tommy Tuberville from Camden, AR. We shite on Norvell last year.

I believe that the day Texas A&M was brought into the league, Arkansas recruiting grounds in East Texas started to dry up. Before the Aggies, recruits wanting to play in the SEC had LSU and Arkansas as their primary teams. The loss of this sweet spot has impacted Arkansas a great deal.
