I think most fans are very happy with where Pittman has led Arkansas. On paper, most wanted Kiffin(me included) but Arkansas needed Pittman for a cultural change and it's worked out great so far for both parties.
agree 100%....both programs hired the right guy for their situation....

This is MSNBC-level history rewriting. He used y’all to try to leverage more money out of Arkansas and we told him to frick off and he got stuck with you.
So that's why he had a verbal agreement with Arkansas about the number and at the last minute OM called and he told Ark to hold on? That's what he was doing? Leveraging for more money? Whatever helps you sleep at night.

So we won by double digits. Got it.
That is correct....due to 7 turnovers....we don't have the turnovers, the game wasn't close......in simple terms for you, you didn't line up and kick anyone arse....you won due to 7 turnovers....

Go play some more HALO, kid. You're embarrassing yourself.

Weird thread.
Now, in any fanbase there are a variety of opinions about lots of things...
Personally I don't care that much about it. I'm happy with Sam. He's what we needed.
I see Kiffin with an allegedly Heisman-caliber QB still not making it to ATL and not nearly as dominating as you pretend. Beating Arkansas by 1 pt at home, for example..
Good luck in Starkville. They'll probably beat your arse.

It’s not bitter about Lane Kiffin to tell you Miami is a cooler place to live with more millionaire donors than Oxford.
Miami is a cooler place to live than literally every SEC town by that logic. Have fun begging those fans to come to a game. Miami's fanbase is horrific.

It's a fun game. You obviously are interested enough to be in the thread talking about it.

No way. Sam fits Arkansas like a glove. Also 4th and 25

In the end, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. You got what you wanted. We got what we wanted. That's all there is to it.

This.
And there were concerns about hiring Lane. Many involved in the decision were pushing back on him. Pittman had huge support among former players and they pushed hard for him to get the Arkansas job.

The inferiority complex in the Ole Miss fanbase is pretty severe. I'm actually embarrassed that Arkansas ever actually considered bringing the likes of Kiffin to Fayetteville...but we were honestly pretty desperate at that time. I think we're pretty happy with how it turned out. What's ironic is that the prevalent story is that Jimmy Sexton tried to leverage Ole Miss' interest to get the salary bumped at Arkansas and Yuracheck told him to take a hike...leaving poor Lane stranded at Ole Miss. Regardless...aren't both fan bases happy? Is this REALLY all you have to soothe that rightful inferiority all Mississippians seem to be born with?
I really could give a rip who is currently coaching Ole Miss. Nobody in their right mind thinks Kiffin intends to retire there...and that's fine...maybe you can 'steal' Pittboss from us when he leaves!

Imagine just wrapping up the Chad Morris era then being so moronic as to type this. Arky didn't have many options as to who they would pick and choose.

My question: Why can't Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas A&M, and Arkansas fans just get along!?!

Time will show that we got the better of that scenario.

This literally makes no sense. This sounds like a message board mod's version of the story to feed his flock. You don't come to an agreement with a coach without a salary being part of it. If you want to argue that the decision makers at Ark were dragging their feet because they couldn't get everyone on the same page? I'll buy that. Sexton would have probably got Drink in Oxford (thank god that didn't happen) and Kiffin in Fayetteville. He would have rather had that.
Bottom line is Kiffin saw OM beat Alabama twice when he was OC. He knew he could recruit to build a winner at OM. Ark hadn't done it that way in recent memory. It's not a slight on Arkansas. He just knew that it had been done recently at OM. (No Freeze didn't win the west but he had the talent to do it). And the rebuild at Ark was going to take a minute.

No, absolutely NOT true. We're only 1 fanbase, but you also have those that like to start trash talk and you KNOW IT!

They got a position coach who was the assistant to the assistant head coach.
Not a current or even former head coach. Not an up and coming coordinator.
A position coach.
Pittman is a great guy and it’s worked out swimmingly for Arky, but Arky needs to check their reality here. They had to hire Pittman because he was the only one who would take the job after the dumpster fire left behind since Petrino.
