Arkansas Fans- Tell Me About Your Team This Year

I watched a little bit of the Florida A&M game but how would you say this team compares to last year's team? What are your expectations compared to last year and based on the first game?
For reference, I have heard the following:
-graduated a couple of your top TEs
-had a RB retire due to injuries
-had a starting CB lost for the season in game 1.
-apparently new expansion for the new stadium which should make for a louder environment for this game?
Also, if you would like me to answer some questions about TCU, I can put something together if interested.

We have an idiot for a coach who can't figure out how to do anything but wallow in mediocrity. Being that he's a fat pig himself, it's really not that surprising.

Does everyone in the SEC hate their football coach except Bama?

We expect to go 11-1. Only loss to Texas A&M.

Overall, I think we are better off from a Talent standpoint...especially on the Defensive side of the ball.
QB
Allen is another Allen...You know what you get out of him
RB
Whaley is our bell cow, but TF Chase Hayden is going to be a helluva player. Throw in a SR Transfer in David Williams and this will be a solid group...running and blocking
WR
You won't recognize many names, but arguably the deepest unit we've had in 20 years...really young and way more talented then we've been at this position. You'll know SR Jared Cornelius.
TE
We are TEU, expect us to be very good here
OL
Can't be worse than last season haha
DL
Move to the 3-4 helps our numbers. Sosa Agim is a beast remember the name
LB
What we were missing last season was speed...This is where we are expecting the biggest turnaround with the 3-4
DB
We did lose our best CB, and will be replaced by a freshman...I think we will see a jump here as well.

Still hard to tell. I think the offense should be better when it is all said and done but most of that hinges on the Oline improving which is no grantee. It is hard to believe the defense will be worse than last year but it might not improve much, which isn't very encouraging. Either way the 3-4 should help us in the long run vs teams similar to TCU.

I believe 8 wins so better than last year. I think most believe at the very least we will split the A&M/TCU games.

Yep, although I'm not too worried about this position unless we see some serious injuries.

Yep, IMO our best one. Going to need some younger players to step up.

Maybe a little bit but we really won't know until next year when it is totally completed.

Will be interesting to see how these progress as I would imagine they will have a big impact on how the other positions perform. TCU is also having a similar changing of the guard in the lines that should dictate how well they do this season. Otherwise, I think most TCU fans are feeling pretty good at most of the skill positions.

Also, I see that Arkansas will run the 3-4. Usually teams will combat the spread attack with some type of 4-2-5 nickel formation. Do you see Arkansas trying a variation of that by inserting a safety/LB hybrid as 1 or 2 of the linebackers or will they likely continue with standard LBs to get reps and focus on stopping the run to prepare for conference play. I am assuming the SEC West is still more of a run dominant division even though it seems to have a few more spread style offenses than in the past.

Especially in this one. Watch out for qb pressure in this one like you didn't see last year. Trill Hill better have his game face on. Gonna need his best Johnny Football impression.

No question that we will at some point. Even when we ran a 4-3 we did this at times.

You picked the wrong board for a serious answer. The Millennials think the only way to post is to try to be clever.
I agree with most of what the Hog fans have responded.
I think the outcome of this game will depend on Austin Allen. If he starts to play like I think he is capable, the Hogs win this game.

Arkansas by 10 in this game. Balanced team, improved defense, home game.

I don't see it, KH killed us last year and see him doing the same this year

our defense should be better. Id feel better with Pulley out there, but I hope calloway/curl can get it done. It was mostly Turbin, and I bet the plan for him is KRich

TCU will be a different team this year because of the coaching changes to OC and OL. They look to be stronger at the receiver positions and more than just Turpin based on game 1.
But the real key will be how well they can run the ball and create 3rd and 3, 4 or 5 yard situations. If they get stuck like last year where it is more of the 3rd and 7 or 3rd and 10 situations, it will put more pressure on Hill and the receivers.

best overall talent in a decade, except at OT
