I'm from the D.C. Metro. Lifelong 'Skins fan. Family fought for the Union during the Civil War. Get called out on here a lot. 
If my boyfriends family, whom all live in the deep south... and mostly attended UGA, can get along with me... well, anyone can.
They make fun of me voting for non-Republicans though.

I understand when Mizzou fought overwhelming for the North how it's hard to fit in even all these years later. Kentucky at least stuck it's head in the ground and fought for no one.

It is amazing how rapidly culture can change as one drives across the country. Wichita and Kansas City aren't very far from Fayetteville at all but are decidedly mote Midwest than Fayetteville. In the other direction Little Rock is noticeably more Southern.
