Arkansas and Texas should (and will) play every year.

Even 30 years later, there's a level of hate and excitement in Fayetteville that I rarely see for any SEC matchup.

Some things are just meant to be.

Arkansas better hope Texas isn’t that much better than Rice or they’re in trouble

Honestly, though I hate to admit it, not playing that yearly game was the only thing I missed about the SWC.

I don't hate Texas (at least not yet) thanks to beating Nebraska in 96.

Why I laughed when Kirk Crystreit said college football was losing tradition when Texas and OU moved to the SEC. Texas keeps its rivalry with OU while renewing 2 with A&M and Arkansas. OU lost Nebraska when they left for the B1G so old news, could potentially lose OKST, but will play Missouri again and has a chance to create new ones.

Passion is why we watch, why I watch college over pro sports (and a multitude of other reasons). Passion runs deep in college sports, something the pros can’t replicate.

No thanks. Dont give a damn about playing Texas. They can keep their arrogant, liberal, conference-killing selves in Austin.

Maybe in Fayetteville, but not in Hog fans generally. Been so long ago I had forgotten about them. At this point I'm like most SEC fans. We all want to be Bama.

Well, that's true.

But older fans here hate them more than you do.

Also, 30% of the student body here is from Texas.

And the Big 12 is now renewing old rivalries by adding Houston and Cincinnati for West Virginia. Win win in my opinion

More interested in Texas/Arkansas is basketball and baseball at this point
Texas is a good team but not great and Arkansas isn’t anywhere close to being good so right now the excitement isn’t there except for the fact they haven’t played

Matters where you live in Arkansas and like you said age.
A lot of people grew up with SEC and not Texas. Heard stories about them but never really experienced it. I don’t think somehow this year will be any different.

You don’t want to lose. But you can say that about a few teams. Especially Ole Miss and LSU.

On the Texas end. The A&M game will overshadow all at first. Possibly even Red River Shootout.
Arkansas/Oklahoma every year is a game I think a lot of people could look forward to.
Arkansas pretty much has every state that surrounds them in the SEC

Like a pig in mud….
These moves perhaps helps them more than any school.
Anyone who said any different is either denying the truth or is clueless

I agree, I think the recruits will play for Arkansas over Oklahoma State or Baylor now

There's a genuine hate for Texas in every real native Hog fan. Even if you're too young to know why, you heard your grandparents cuss those frickers, and you knew deep down they were right.

Those J.R. Ewing wannna be pussies have been pulling strings and cheating for as long as the game has been around.

I grew up in Northeast Texas

Used to vacation in Hot Springs. This was late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
One of the first things that came up in a lot conversations there

So you’d rather forfeit the game then? Hot take.

Arkansas will set a stadium attendance record for this one.

First full sell-out since the last expansion was complete in 2018 (in the Chad Morris era), and they'll sell out standing-room only, too.
