There was a missed call that set up the drama. Earlier in the 4th quarter, Arkansas snapped the ball over the punter's head and he kicked the ball out of the back of the endzone. The refs called a Safety. Trimming the lead to 24-22 Arkansas.
That wasn't the right call. Under the rules, Tennessee should have been given the choice of taking the safety or taking the ball 1/2 the distance from the previous spot, which was the Arkansas 10 (giving UT the ball at the Arkansas 5.
So...instead of being down 2, they would have been down 4 with the ball on the 5 yard line. Remember how Tennessee scored at the end. Travis Henry averaged 6.2 yards per carry that game and finished with 197 rushing yards.
Tennessee's final drive was:
Henry rush for 15 yards, Henry rush for 15 yards, Henry rush for 11 yards, Henry rush for 1 yard Touchdown.
He ran for 42 yards in 4 carries...so he probably would have made it in with 4 shots from the 5.

Hard to hate a guy that has gotten 24 or so players drafted in the last 3 years. He gets kids in and turns them into pro prospects.

Great game. I watched it at a friend's house before going to see Donnell Harvey play a high school basketball game. That guy was crazy good.

I was at that game. It is unreal how Tennessee looked so foolish on that play.

That game was tighter than Saban's arse during the Kick Six. Arkansas was never whipping arse. They were giving the Vols all they could handle for a time but no arse whipping.

We had a friendly cross-div rivalry for a short time but it was actually pretty fun - not bitter. Online we've been friends but something happened last basketball season on tRant. Arkansas fans lost their minds and a few Tennessee fans kept feeding them and one or two were complete asshat as were Ark fans. There's been nonsense ever since.
There's no real rivalry but on tRant there's a weird bitchiness and obsession that's fairly recent. The problem for Arkansas fans is they get a lot of Tennessee media. OTOH, we don't really think about Arkansas unless they're on the schedule or throwing bombs on tRant.
IRL Arkansas fans are great and get along well with Tennessee fans.

Yeah I like Arkansas, tbh. Only SEC program I can stand to see successful, as long as they aren't playing us. Some of the best posters on here and on SECTalk were Hogs.

Does Tennessee really only have 1 elite 8 appearance? I knew they weren’t considered much in hoops but I would have thought better than that.
