He didn't even have the chest to kick that door in, properly. Definitely not Fighting Tigers material.

Funny to see the cops waiting outside and they unmask him. Reminded me of Scooby Doo.

Really sad. There are players that would love to have the talent that kid has. He just pissed it all away.

For all the “he’s a moron” talk - it’s been widely whispered that Arik Gilbert has some deep psychological problems and mental illness.

Something happened at LSU - have heard he was smoking synthetic weed that messed him up - but something happened there. At UGA, the focus was more about trying to help Arik off the field than helping UGA on the field and they were getting him help - but then he started stealing from teammates and they had to let him go.

Got his third chance at Nebraska and this happened. The kid isn’t a moron - he has psychological problems and likely mental illness.

He could have psychological issues, mental illness and also be a moron. Nothing he’s ever done demonstrates he isn’t a moron. He also appears to be a low character guy.

In 1972 Johnny Rogers robbed a gas station in Nebraska and played that weekend vs OU in the game of the century. Nebraska won and he was huge with a punt return. Rogers won the Heisman that year. Times are different but frick Nebraska. Oh and Lawrence Phillips was flat beatiung women and played in the Orange Bowl, trash program.

As soon as he left LSU and went to Georgia, his life fell apart. The highlight of his college-age life occurred at LSU, it's a shame he left.

People with mental illness act on their psychosis. To suggest it’s either/or is incorrect.

If he has mental illness needs to accept the help that was offered. Now the kid is probably going to jail

Up until this incident, reports from UGA insider was momma was in denial about Arik’s mental illness issues which complicated matters. Hopefully momma changes course to get her son more help than what the schools could offer.

I guess that's a way to really spin it to try to make UGA look good.

All of Arik’s problems were already there before he touched foot on Athens soil. UGA never got close to putting him into any meaningful playing time - the most run he ever got was in last year’s spring game.

You can throw your ignorant shade at UGA all you want - but it’s simply untrue. Of course Kirby and UGA wanted the talent but they knew he had major off-field issues and knew he had to get right off the field before he could ever help them on the field - and that was the plan the plan the entire time in Athens.
