They don't have a great baseball program.. but you can't say our program might as well not exist when we just won the conference last year, and an alum will be starting in the WS this week.

I honestly don't know if I could agree with the move more. We pick up a decent ball-club with one of them and a HELL of an expanded recruiting and tv market with both. Who knows? Mizzou's landscape may turn to more of a traditional winning program now that THAT MANY people will have so much SEC football to watch and grow to admire that much more.

However, if/when we have to expand to a 16 team conference then I will want both new additions to be as good a football team as possible, because I will always want the SEC perceived as super dominant.

Did football have quarterbacks in 1919? Did they hit each other?

I just figure that a national championship in 1919 is about equivalent to winning a tag football game at the local church with a few members of the congregation watching while picnicing on quilts.

I thought we weren't supposed to bring up college football ancient history. People on the rant have said that we aren't to bring up anything that happened before 1960, the year Mizzou won a National Championship in football.

Y'all will pick it up. It's not easy to just JUMP into SEC play even when we're down as a conference. I don't see y'all as a "Vandy" type.

I don't see us as a Vandy type team either. This year has been a shite storm that has opened eyes at Mizzou.

We know what we need to do, and we'll commit to that in order to compete year in and year out.

Who won more conference titles? A&M or Arkansas?

None of this shite matters. With exception to this year, Arkansas is 99 percent of the time the far better team.

We are halfway into the 2012 season and we are seeing more A&M and Mizzou football than we ever have. I think both schools were great additions and seem to be happy with being apart of the SEC.
So hear are my questions:

2) How do the original SEC 12 schools feel about A&M and Mizzou and their fans? Do you have any personal stories to share from interacting with fans from either school?

3) Has traveling to the 2 new schools been a pleasurable experience? If so, how? Have there been any special greetings?

5) Was adding both schools good for the SEC fan base? We know its good for increased revenues.

6) Should we add another 2 schools soon to get our expansion to 16?

Any other comments?

2. The league is too big to be a football conference now. Adding an extra divisional game and another opponent in the other division makes it too long between games against teams in the other division unless they are your perm rival. Giving up perm rivals would suck. So overall this has been a net negative, for the football experience IMO. When you don't play a team at least once in the average college student's time as a student, you shouldn't be in the same conference.

3. Haven't done so yet for a football game. I've been to both cities in the past and they are nice enough college towns. Most Mizzou students/fans are low on passion. A&M folks have a lot of spirit.

5. A&M is a good addition in that they are passionate fans who care about football and their school. Having them part of the SEC brand is a good thing. I'm not sure about Mizzou yet. Nothing wrong with them, but I don't see a lot of value added.

6. Please no. Too big as it is. 12 was really about perfect. Big enough to qualify for a championship game, but not so big that the schedule was unwieldy.

West fricking Virginia? Couch fires and shitty fans? The "upgrade" to the big 12 that just lost to Texas Tech and Kansas State by multiple touchdowns?

IMO, Missouri is more of a cultural fit than WVU, by far.

I completely agree with this. I don't care for the Mizzou addition, but WVU would have been a debacle.

The only point I had any hesitation about the SEC move was when there was a rumor of flirtation with WVU as the 14th team and the thought of them being assigned to A&M as a perm rival. Playing Mountaintard every year with a trip up to Morgantown every other year was more than I could bear.

I hope Missouri fans read every post in this thread and realize that they are not a welcome addition.

However, whenever I state such an idea y'all always say "most of the SEC thinks we were a good addition". Utterly false

Yes. He was dancing to draw attention to Breast Cancer awareness.

Good thing in my opinion. To be commended.

I've never said that. I hate most SEC schools and their fans.

I'd rather be in the Big 10, Big 12, ACC or any conference that doesn't involve inbred southern weirdos.
