Most everyone thought this 2009 Florida team was the heavy favorite to win the National Title

Most everyone? Heavy favorite? No.

Are there any signs that Saban is losing control of this team? What are the chances that Quinnen Williams is going to get a DUI tonight?

There are few, if any similarities between 2018 Alabama and 2009 Florida.

The 09 Alabama team was undefeated in the regular season for the second year in a row.

UGA has been smoked once each in SEC play the last 2 years.

That Alabama team was also undefeated. They were the underdog, but it's not like it was a particularly stunning upset. The stunning part was the margin, not the win.

That 09 Florida team was flawed, this Bama team isn't. Last year's Bama team was very flawed.

If UGA beats Bama Saturday, I bet the line for the CFB game would still be Bama -10. The chances of Bama losing to UGA twice in the span of a month have to be extremely low.

Most UGA fans have long forgotten about that game. We got a couple of championships to go win. How’s LSU’s chances at a championship this year looking?

The following season after that was urban's last and he left the program in disarray, and had a pretty damn mediocre year in 2010 as well. Saban is going ot be at bama at least a few more years and whenever he does will leave behind one of the most loaded and deep rosters in CFB.

When UF lost that 09 SECCG they were pretty much finished on the national scene all the way up to present day. We could beat bama by 30 and they would still be the favorites to win it all going into next year. So no I wouldn't say they're all that similar.

All of this. That 08 and 09 Florida team was good but they weren't that good before or after Tebow. Alabama is a proven dynasty at this point. Look at Clemson. Bama beat them in '15 and they got their revenge the next year. Didn't stop Bama from winning a NC in '17.

Also, keep in mind that if Ga beats Bama Saturday, we'll likely get our revenge game against Ga in January.

Ole Miss beat us two years in a row. It wasn't a changing of the guard.

Ole Miss recruiting just before and right up to that time frame:
2012: #48 ranked class
2013: #8 ranked class
2014: #15 ranked class
2015: #17 ranked class

**One Top 10 class in four years, and a 4-year average class ranking of #22.

Ole Miss SEC regular season record in the two years they challenged Alabama and won: 11-5

No one thought even after the 2nd win over Bama that Ole Miss was on the verge of reigning supreme atop the SEC. Heck no one even in Oxford thought that. Despite being 2-0 against Alabama in those two seasons, they were a disappointing 9-5 against the rest of the SEC.

I'm not saying Georgia is on the verge of doing it right now, but with a win Saturday, the evidence would support there being a strong possibility of a guard change taking place.

Georgia recruiting the last 4 years:
2015: #6 ranked class
2016: #6 ranked class
2017: #3 ranked class
2018: #1 ranked class

**A four-year average of a #4 ranking... plus the current #3 class in 2019.

Georgia's regular season record these past two seasons: 14-2.

Georgia played for a National Title last season and lost narrowly in Overtime. Ole Miss never came close to that. Comparing where Georgia sits now to where Ole Miss was in 2015 is like apples and oranges.

Georgia is recruiting equal talent to Alabama. We only need or two more years of Kirby's recruiting to finally pull even it matching the talent and depth of Alabama.

SummerofGeorge is right in that this year may be more like 2008 than it is to 2009, but the way things are heading, Alabama is on the verge of having its reign atop the challenged in a way that no other program has come close to since Bama took their seat at the top in 2009.

However, it's more likely to move into a back and forth ala Florida/LSU from 2004 to 2007 than a Florida/Alabama change IMHO. Alabama currently has the #1 recruiting class in 2019 and 2020 and will have as good a team as this one next year. So there is no reason to think they will be anything but great. Obviously stuff can happen, but Georgia is only moving towards Alabama, not passing it in the night.

But who knows what'll happen in 3 or 4 years.

Sorry, pup, but there won't be a changing of the guards while Saban is at Bama.

Which is what everyone thought about Bear Bryant... yet he had 6 losses and a tie in his final two seasons. That tie was to Southern Miss the year after losing to Southern Miss.

That's also what folks thought about Steve Spurrier... then he lost 9 games in his final three seasons.

Eventually dynasties come to an end, and very rarely does a coach announce retirement when he can go out on top. Saban might very well do that, but he's also had the luxury of having a massive talent+depth advantage compared to every other program in the SEC. By this time next year, that advantage becomes minuscule.

I'm not buying, I have Bama -13.5 and feel really good about that bet!
