Last year?????

Last year they beat like they do once every decade or so, dipshit. You still have no point. We have no incentive to cancel bedlam. Pokes have EVERY incentive to cancel bedlam. Go sell your silly narratives elsewhere...

In the past, OU has been supportive of oSu - at least it appears that way from afar. So I am somewhat surprised that Bedlam was pulled off the table.

Same way with Texas and Texas Tech. Texas has always tried to keep Tech in the picture, but the SEC move was just too good to pass up. But I think it would be a good move for Texas to put Tech on the OOC.

Funny, if Boone was still around, I'm sure he would have bought oSu's entry along with OU into the SEC.

What could of been bringing Arkansas instead of Baylor from the SWC.

The price of getting the Texas schools. The Texas governor of the time was a proud Baylor graduate and would have torpedoed the deal if Baylor didn't get included.

Arkansas had talked to the Big 8 and there was some mutual interest. Parking Arkansas in the Big 12 might have changed a lot of things. Arkansas would have probably fought to keep the Big 12 headquarters in Kansas City as an example.

We left for the SEC, OSU used it as an opportunity to say "we're busy washing our hair....forever" in terms of future scheduling, and cited "you're the ones who left" as an excuse.

That's what happened.

And we don't care really. There was never anything to gain for us.

Yes. And that would have made the Big XII a perfect conference (back at that time)

But you pigs wouldn't do it. Y'all were/are so freakin hell bent on staying away from UTexas you've basically spited yourself and look at the results of Arkansas football since then. You should have come back to the Texas hunting grounds.

All water under the bridge now..

The very first football game I ever attended was when my grandfather, a huge Razorback fan his entire life, took me to a game in Stillwater in 1978. Lou Holtz was the coach. I still have the program from that game signed by he and Dan Hampton (who my Uncle went to high school with in Jacksonville).

There’s a little truth to this. texas liked to have power in those 2 conferences with the threat of leaving and taking aggie with them which would leave other teams high and dry. Like they just did with the big12 by leaving and bringing okie with them.

We couldn’t afford to be in that position so we went to the most secure place we could have ever hoped for. We knew it would be tough in football but it was well worth the risk.

Now texas is just another fish in the pond and any threat of them leaving will be encouraged and laughed at. They just took a huge step down in status and importance and lost any bargaining chip they had.

We made a great decision and texas took a huge step down in calling any conference shots. texas has never been close to being in this position before, I’m surprised they did it.

To be clear, the Big XII was over when Nebraska/Colorado bolted. The rest was just a matter of timing and sequence, and was delayed by Texas wanting to pause so it could have its own network.

Good thing Oklahoma was smart enough to stay hitched up with Texas. They saw how Arkansas was just fading away.

We aren't exactly crying about the results. Remember, y'all came crawling to our conference to save you from a potential collapse of the Big 12. Football has been hit or miss, but we're in a very profitable conference that isn't in serious danger of self destructing. We might have made the Big 12 work, but here we don't have to worry about that. The SEC works just fine.

Hell, we are confident enough we even let you goobers in and y'all specialize in shitting the bed and destroying formerly stable conferences. As long as you mind your Ps and Qs we will let you stay in the clubhouse. If you get bitchy, again, we'll throw you out and have a replacement school lined up before the end of the day.

We do not need Texas. Y'all need us. Mind your manners.

Yeah, y’all have really owned us since we’ve been in the sec, haha.

Y’all were real gangbusters before sark arrived weren’t you and now after 1 good year all that is forgotten, eh?

We’ll see how you pan out now, I’m surprised okie, who has owned you, would want to be associated with you. They won’t have to be now.

Arkansas should have waited it out for a few years with the SWC and merged with the Big 8.

Stay in the Big 12 for awhile and then join the SEC when better prepared.
