When Saban started going ballistic it seemed to light a fire under them a little bit. Could it be that Bama's players are a little complacent now that they are getting paid? Not just a Charger to drive but an nice wad of walking around cash in their pocket now instead of just gas money.

I know Bama fans want to blame the assistant coaches, but I watched one play and the Jones guy wasn't even paying attention and got burned for a long TD. Could it be a lack of interest or intensity that is causing Bama to play down the the competition with regularity?

Kind of like the pro's after they sign a fat contract.

It’s been discussed. It will be a trend in college football. Giving SOME kids money without the maturity to handle will end badly for some

I doubt it's a positive, but we don't have anyone named "Jones" on the team, so I assume you mean Jobe and that play he got caught looking at the sideline for the play call.

IDK what it is but last night, the offense didn’t seem to have any urgency. It looks to me that Anderson is pushing the front 7 on D to do better, which they are. The D backfield is either young or just not very good…or both.

So, is Bama the only college football team to have NIL deals for the players?

Well now Saban can't stockpile talent behind starters with them having no good option to leave for more playing time. So the starters know they arent going to yanked.

Personally i think giving some of the leverage to players will help college football. It was becoming unwatchable - now with more parity, it is interesting again.

That’s kinda the point of Tennessee’s hurry up game.

The only ones who have to deal with that combined with the extreme rat poison that already exists due to coming off a national championship.

Just adds to the distractions.

Georgia players have NIL deals too, they don't seem to be disinterested. I think it has something to do with culture, leaders leaving last year and no new leaders stepping up. That said, they are still probably going to finish 11-1 and that's a "shitty season" for Alabama so that says a lot too.

It's really difficult to argue that in the face of them scoring 52 points and racking up 570+ yards of total offense.

NIL has nothing to do with why the 2021 Alabama team does not compare favorably to other recent Alabama teams. The staff is not great below Saban and the team has a lot of first year starters.

Lack of leadership is definitely an issue.

Skippy your Gators have more to worry about than Bama.

So far the highlight of your season is a close game with Bama.

Some of it has to be juggling a new staff every other year. It’s going to catch you at some point…player development is probably harder having to bring new coaches in and then expecting having immediate chemistry. Maybe a reason he keeps Golding…at least he knows he’ll be there next year. Just a thought..but it looks like effective offensive and defensive line coaches don’t grow on trees. And why tf are we so small on defense? I dont think that plan is turning out the way it was supposed to…

Lots of UGA players have NILs. JT shares some of his money with teammates and charities.

And how many will transfer within 1-2 years? Before they had to sit there and wait unless they wanted to go JuCo- no longer. Saban pushed Alabama to the top through no small part of being able to extend scholarship player numbers through non-football scholarships.
