You do realize the NCAA caused this entire mess, right? And then Sankey added on to it. Here’s all you really need to know… Sankey will get a favorable ruling on Wednesday in Federal Court in Alabama. He’ll walk into Thursday’s meeting thinking he’s untouchable. But the fact is, LSU has not broken a single rule.
LSU needs to walk into Thursday’s meeting, give them all the middle finger, and say see you in court. Call their bluff, bc that’s all it is in the end. If the SEC were to kick LSU out of the conference, LSU would file the most catastrophic antitrust and breach of contract lawsuit in sports history. It would be a long fight, but LSU would win in the end.
In that lawsuit, LSU would seek damages to around $4.5 billion. They would look for damages as follows:
1. Direct media rights revenue.
2. Collateral economic damages.
3. And this would be the killer.. Treble damages, which allows them to seek triple the economic damages they would incur.
So, call their bluff. See if Sankey and the other 15 members actually want to risk a multi billion dollar antitrust lawsuit. They really don’t. This is about ego for Sankey. He got into a dick swinging contest with Kiffin, and he’s lost the first round. So, instead of just trying to work out the differences, he’s acting like he’s going to deal a death blow to LSU and Kiffin. The actual death blow would be to the SEC as a whole if LSU wins a multi billion dollar antitrust lawsuit, because that would mean the end of the SEC.

Who’s going to fund the AD at the levels LSU funds them now if you leave the SEC? You think the revenue cut from the ACC/B12 is anywhere near the SEC? Do you honestly think these big money boosters are going to hang around to beat UCF or Boston College? You’re much more optimistic than I am about that. How long do you think Lane is in Baton Rouge if things go sideways?

I’d venture to say staying in a conference with a commissioner who has shown themselves as vindictive and petty as Greg Sankey has worse implications

What does that have to do with anything.
If the SEC voted LSU out, it wouldn't be logically based on Lane Kiffin's acts. It would just be a railroading based on a narrative that has no logical grounds.

Its not Lane it's Louisiana we walk around w/ a chip on our shoulder and its like being on a team you dont always get along but nobody fricks w/ your team makes.

If Sankey is the driver of all this (and that is a big assumption, but let’s say he is) you guys are choosing a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Sankey will exit the stage shortly. Do you really wanna self-immolate over this?

YES! It's the principle of the thing. You reeally can't simplify whats going on. the SEC and it's commissioner and probably several others are really out on a limb here. much more than LSU.

The lawsuit was already filed, the actions Kiffin and LSU took already happened.
But I do agree that as long as LSU follows the rule, I would be surprised if anything else really happens.
Hopefully the SEC wins and it establishes the conference has autonomy, ending all this TRO crap. The members vote not to kick LSU out, LSU gets in line and all this shite ends up in the past.
But you aren't goign to piss down my back and tell me it's raining. The only thing that prevents LSU and Kiffin from adding those players were the actions of the SEC. If the SEC did nothing, LSU would have added them and you'd all be prancing around about how Kiffin drug his nuts over the SEC.
