And he did so on 35 touches for a whooping 4.57 ypp! Neither of his two TDs were impressive considering he missed a wide open Ridley right in front of him the first time around and the second was 1 yard TD pass.

4.57 per play kept the chains moving, and our ability to convert more third downs made a difference for our defense, IMO.

So you are saying that because he missed a pass to Ridley on a previous play, this somehow means that his TDs were not "good?" Interesting.

there are also people like you who give him a little too much credit.

In what way am I giving him too much credit?

Most of his passes came from short dump offs to the RB or screen passes. Most of his downfield throws resulted in nothing. Foster’s dropped pass was because Hurts couldn’t hit him in stride and instead made him come back and threw it at his feet. There was also another 3rd down pass he threw behind the receiver. Of course the huge underthrow to Ridley. On Bo’s dropped pass, he rocketed the ball in instead of dumping it off.

He also has a tendency to run out of the pocket which allows defenders to chase him down quickly to force the throw away. Don’t forgot the fumble which led to 3 points.

It’s pretty bad when you can’t see your favorite target wide open right in front of you.

Because it seems always every time he’s had a bad game, people like you always try to play it off like it was nothing and that he did what he had to do. Like the Clemson game last year where’s he’s given credit for putting the team in position to win for scoring the last TD despite doing jack shite outside that play.

I never claimed that he had a great game. He had some bad plays. But it wasn't a meltdown or anything close, and he did some good things. Why does that opinion bother you ?

Well we can agree to disagree. I don't think UGA's defense is as good as Clemson's.

I agree with this. I mean, OU gashed Georgia for 530 yards. But that was an extraordinary offense. Alabama is not known for an extraordinary offense. But their defensive pressure creates points going the other way. So it should be a good matchup for those interested in watching. Nobody wants to see the Bama-LSU title game from 2012 again. Look at the ratings for that game. The worst in the BCS era. And that’s saying something because you had some snoozers like Nebraska-Miami, USC-Oklahoma and Florida-OSU.

How often do fans get to see other fans of one of the teams playing in the National Championship game, quarreling over their own team's performance?.....you gotta love it!

UGA's DL is a poor mans Clemson, considering the ranking and stats that back that up. So look at it this way, UGA has 1 better ILB and Clemson's DL is better without a doubt. Secondary is a wash.

I’m saying he’s holding this offense back and that’s something you don’t want to see. He did enough (which was pretty much nothing) in this game because our defense was suffocating. If that’s not the case against UGA then him putting up pedestrian numbers won’t be enough.

I can't wait till you stupid fricks put tua in and he starts throwing ints left and right. You don't need Dan Marino when you have jim kelly sitting right in front of you. JH doesn't turn the football over. Period. That's all you need at bama.

Clemson scored half their points off of a Hurts turnover

Tua isn't going to play and never was

If a whole 3 points beats you then you have more problems than you think you do.

I'd rather a QB turn the ball over occasionally and make plays consistently than the opposite.

Where did I say I wanted Tua in? I think Tua should get a shot in the spring but it’s too late in the season to make him part of the game plan. All I’m saying is Hurts holds this offense back but the offense is what it is at this point.

Which is precisely what I'm trying to fricking say it was a completely a catchable ball that a guy that complains about targets dropped. Not sure why that is so controversial of an opinion.

So the receiver should be NFL like but the quarterback can have accuracy issues and not even be consider a good accurate college passer. Ok

Alabama is a field position team. Turnovers are CANCER to a field position team. Jalen Hurts does exactly what the coaching staff wants him to do.

I truly believe this, too. I actually believe it's possible that Hurts is coached to wait to throw until the receiver comes out of his cuts to try to cut down on interceptions.

We don't get to make that call. The starting QB job is not determined by fan vote.

Obviously the fans don't get to make that call. However, it seems like the majority of Bama fans are staunch Hurts apologists. You guys seem to be ready to ride or die with Jalen. What I also can't understand is why the national media absolutely adores this guy. He's a mediocre QB at best.
