It’s weird how the loss Saturday brought out all of these TexAgs posters that never post here.

It's common that they all rolled over took that loss like the aggies they are.

That will get you a raise and an extension at Texas Alright&Mediocre.

Were we supposed to hire an unaccomplished G5 coach? Or a coordinator?

What’s there to be unhappy about?

Only knock I see is his age. I wanted someone younger but he’ll have LSU rolling for the next 5 years or so.

Because we had incompetence in the HC position for the last 6 years minimum and probably last 16, and now we have competence. Rusts why

Aggie still owned by daddy, so all they got is vicariously counter owning through non realities. Between that and "you couldn't hire our coach away from us [that LSU never wanted]!" it's a little sad and a lotta funny.

Yes he is 60, but Saban was 57 when he started at Bama.

I mean... we are. We had a GREAT run with Coach O in 2019. But need a true X's and O's coach. A breath of fresh air. A coach that is here to win games. Excited to see what he can do with LSU talent.

Well its as simple as this: The last two LSU coaches won National Championships. And I don't think I need to convince you that Kelly is a much better coach than either of them.

FWIW, when Riley bailed I was freaking out. The coaching changes board was in free fall, full on dumpster fire mode..

I assure you, NONE of the fans expected Kelly but honestly, he's a pretty exciting prospect. As a sidewalk Bammer fan, I can understand you probably not remembering what it was like before your team hired Saban, or before your beloved Patriots and probably Yankees and Lakers won all those Super Bowls/World Series/NBA championships respectively.

Well he hasn't coached a down of football at LSU, so you still may be.

Maybe, that would be similar results as Jimbo.

I mean LSU is replacing a bad coach with a good coach. That changes the landscape no?

If they'd hired Kiffin while Wade is still there, they would have had to enlarge the Baton Rouge FBI office.

I wanted nothing to do with Kiffin. I think he's a great offensive mind, but nothing else about him is something I personally want for the program nor is he the type of coach LSU needs right now. LSU has enough attention as is. We don't need a coach that makes himself the center of attention at all times.

That's the kinda stretch that'll get jumbo an extension. At least we have an expectation to compete at LSU.

You can't blame LSU fans for being excited.

Look, here's the thing that posters either forget or don't want to acknowledge. Kelly went 4-8 in 2016. What did he do then? Fired people. Made changes. Then goes 10-3, 12-1, 11-2, 10-2, 11-1, with two CFP appearances, and could have had a 3rd this year if he'd stayed. Most posters would give their left nut to have a head coach who would pull the trigger on assistants like that and could engineer that kind of turnaround.

Now all that having been said, are Bama fans concerned? Of course not. Short of someone hiring Belichick, Bama fans aren't going to worry about anyone else's hire. And everyone else in the West is happy with their coaches, for the most part. Everyone else in the division has some reason to feel good about their coaches. But all probably have a grudging respect for LSU's hire, whether they admit it or not.
