I wish I shared your optimism regarding the championship games. This committee has talked in circles for weeks.

Although punishing the SECCG loser would set an unbelievably bad precedent.

UGA and Ole Miss have 2 losses

Total losses of teams lost to.

UGA: 4
OM 10

As I said above you Rebels don’t need to be melting down in all these threads. It reeks of fear.

The uga win over Texas is the best win in the sec so far this season

If all you look at is ranking, sure. But Texas hasn’t beat a team with a pulse, so their ranking is entirely based on preseason hype and beating 6-6 Michigan early on.

Ole Miss win over UGA is the best in term of margin of victory against a team that also has legit wins. Bama over UGA is next, then UGA over Texas, UT, and Clemson.

You're right. It just doesn't make sense to play in it if you'll get punished for it. It should only hurt you in seeding, not making the playoffs unless you were a 3 loss team going into it.

since 1950 there have been 78 times the same 2 teams played each other twice in the same season.

One team won both 44 times (56.4%)
The teams split 34 times (43.6%)

With that logic, Texas should be behind Georgia.

Vols still top 10 after that beat down. I like it!

2 more weeks of easy games for the Vols. While others teams fight and fall. We could still even get a Neyland playoff game.

I still would rather have won last night. But it is what it is now.

Go Vols

What could have been though…

Yeah, I help myself get over these types of thoughts thinking "Yeah... we could be 9-1 because we let late leads slip away but we also had to pull our asses out of the Mizzou and ODU fires so we could also be 5-5."

Teams that lost regular season games are 16-7 in rematch’s in postseason play. ^ that’s where we would meet again.

You'd need a lot of chaos to happen.

Best case scenarios:
USCw beats Notre Dame
Michigan beats Ohio St
Ohio St blows Indiana out.
Texas beats Texas A&M
Minnesota beats Penn St
Oregon blows Indiana out.

You gave up zero sacks against Tennessee

Your offensive line didn’t magically get better. Win the trench, win the game.

Uga fans should know this

Everyone in this conference should be rooting for USC to beat ND. It would all but guarantee 5 SEC teams make it.

As it stands now, one of OM, UGA, TN, Bama, or TX are getting left out

That's why we have a committee. Someone has to have the sense to ignore what happens on the field and pick the "correct" teams

Sort of like the UGA fans who have all avoided any discussion of OM dominating them and rationalizing it as “It’s just a bad year for Georgia..” Is it a bad year still coming off a win against UT? Which is it? UGA is def still a top tier program they just got smoked by OM a weekend ago. Take your ranking ahead of us we all just kind of know it’s BS. You can’t unsee that domination just a weekend ago. What reeks of fear is UGA’s offensive line having nightmares about the likes of Ivey, Perkins, Umanmielen and Co feasting on Beck and leaving no doubt as to who the better team is H2H.

We don't need chaos to get into the playoffs, but yeah, some chaos needed to get a Neyland game.

Other scenarios that help would be
TAM over Texas or Kentucky over Texas
Florida or Miss St. over Ole Miss
Army over ND
A 2-loss SEC team to lose in SECCG
A 1-loss (or worse) team to lose in the B1GCG
