If only Colt hadn't got hurt right?
Hell boy UT has about the same number of wins as Miss State since your boy Colt went to the sideline.

Then why are all these people in this thread acting like he took the HUNH concepts he complained about and started beating everyone at their own game with them?
If he never complained about spread offenses, then he can't be a prophet about them!

2020 Alabama is what happens when you have the best players AND a modern offense.
He’s had a modern offense since 2014. He won a national title or was runner up in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2021. You act like these modern offenses have been around his entire career and he waited to change his just because. Those modern offenses Oregon and others were running previously got abused by SEC defenses. Saban adapted when he needed to. He’s one of very few coaches who have been able to continuously adapt as the game changes. Most coaches can’t or refuse to and is why they haven’t had the staying power across eras of the sport while Saban has. He also completely changed his defenses too, which hasn’t even been addressed by most of you

Yes, you get what I'm saying. I explicitly separated them out right there.

We ran a lot of no-huddle in the 1st seasons of Saban Offense 2.0 with Lane in 2014.
We ran more than 73 plays 2 times in the 67 games (3%) from 2010-2013
We ran more than 73 plays 12 times in 29 games (41%) in 2014-2015

So just about as much as 2019 LSU?
I'm lost on whether we're considering that to be fast again.

What we did wasn't hyper fast like Baylor or Syracuse by that point (as Gus had slowed down), but it was clearly much, much faster than we'd done in the past.

I do too. Its not sustainable but there is a path forward on this if someone will step up and do it
Might it be the one most people don't want to see them on top? Texas?

LSU threw the ball almost 40x a game in 2019. Clock stops a lot more when you do that. Alabama ran the ball a lot more than they passed the ball in 2014.

I'm not sure why Texas keeps getting brought up. They haven't recruited any different the last 2 seasons than they usually do.

Wasn't Saban the Coach that said his QB had a $1,000,000 plus deal before he ever got to campus?

Meh. Rich football coaches that have long had the ability to move to other schools for more money lamenting football players now being able to do the same as being the catalyst for college football being unsustainable.

Before he started a game. He had been on campus for a year before NIL was instituted.

Didn't Quinn Ewers get a $1,000,000 plus to go to Ohio State before he ever got to campus? And exactly how much did Texas Longhorns give Ewers to leave OSU and come to Austin?

Let them burn it all down and maybe one day something better will emerge.

Yep. He gives everyone a fair warning when he thinks something is bad for the game, and if no one listens then he starts doing it better than anyone.
College football went from being the best sport in the USA to one of the worst in a span of about 5 years. Crazy. The sport is intentionally making itself into a minor league product and it collectively can't seem to understand why that will make it obsolete to the NFL in the long run.
I still love the game of football, but if I'm forced to watch a sport made up of professionals who quit and go wherever they want for the most money, then I'm at least going to watch the best players play in the NFL with salary caps, free agency limitations, etc instead of college.
