Multiple NFL teams in the state including by far the most popular one of all time is the primary reason for that.
I love the Saints but even I can admit they were shite before Drew Brees for the most part. They never had the same pull, and that is without talking about the whole thing where the rest of the state hates NOLA for some reason.

Frankly I don’t mind people being fans. It’s when sidewalkers want to take personal pride in the accomplishments of the team, throw the word “we” around, and act like they are a better person than me the actual college graduate because a team that was in the state they were born in has a winning streak against my team.
I would figure LSU fans could understand that.

Okay so let's use a scenario. Foreign kid comes to America goes to Texas A&m finds out about football fall in love with it ends up graduating from A&m. Texas boy raised to love A&m and everything that is Aggie football but graduates from UofH. You're telling me the guy who just discovered football has more right of passage just because he furthered his education at Texas A&m ? To me it's not different. Imo you can't stick a gauge on it

Maybe because it's a State school that the tax payers of poor blue coller working men and women paid for who didn't have the means to get a college education but are sending their children there to better themselves!
