I didn’t ask him to remove it because he was trying to hide from it. I asked him to remove it because it was potentially harmful to others. I know you’re not supposed to care about other people on this stupid forum, but it’s the right thing to do.
You really believe he did this because he was being overtly racist on a public forum? If that’s the case, why would he deny it? Why not just own it if he was being that brazen in the first place? Doesn’t really add up to me. But I get it. It sure felt racist to me when I first read it. But after reading this whole thing, I actually believe he didn’t intend it that way.

Racists who are bold enough to say something that overt aren’t the type to deny it. They own it and have misplaced pride about it. That’s not what I’m seeing here.

Maybe? If by idiot you mean that he was ignorant about the ramifications of that word, then, yes. Tone deaf typically refers to intent. I can’t speak for his intentions. Only he can do that. You either choose to believe he didn’t mean anything racial by it, or you choose to believe he’s an overt racist. That’s your call.

I went back and looked at many of his more than 23,000 posts. Didn’t see a racist reference in any of the ones I read. So, if this dude’s a raging racist, he’s hiding it very well. I don’t know him or you, but I don’t like to mess around with racist stuff. I’ll never defend it. It’s wrong. That’s why I told him to take it down. It shouldn’t be tolerated. I don’t blame you at all for calling it out. But I also think a person who admits to ignorance on the matter and changes the wording should get the benefit of the doubt. Especially when they have no history of saying this kind of thing.
