Yes, it a national telecast every Saturday. Everyone gets the 3:30/2:30/1:30/12:30 CBS SEC game.

FIFY

I used to live in Phoenix....12:30 kickoffs during Daylight Savings Time, 1:30 kickoffs after the change to standard time.

No Daylight Savings Time in Phoenix.

I will miss the awesome intro music they used for the games. And they wisely didn't change it like other networks did. For a few years in the '90s, CBS even had rights to a few of the big bowl games. When Nebraska was playing for championships, those games were on CBS.

I remember when CBS first got college football back in 1996. The first game they showed was UCLA/Tennessee. And I watched every second of it. It was great to have another outlet to watch. And every game felt like a big game. Why is CBS so stubborn to keep the rights?

That is quite fascinating Phoenix doesn't observe the time change. I wonder why that is?

Not sure. I lived there for three years and no one could really give me the main reason for that...because none of them really knew...lol.

What an oddity. We went there on vacation a long time ago. But I was young, and don't remember anyone mention it. But I always hate turning back the clocks an hour every year. It's a pointless change to me. And it gets dark an hour earlier.

No idea why CBS never wanted to renegotiate the deal. They were making millions and refused to even do it after the expansion.I think THAT really pissed off the conference.

CBS did try to bid on the next contract but came in pretty low I believe and that along with their negotiating history gave em no chance.

I agree.

I've always thought the entire country should make Daylight Savings Time standard year round.

So ABC will be able to show SEC games in the 2:30 slot now? Is CBS's rights for other sports up soon, and they expect to pay way more to them? Are ratings drastically down?

I just found out how wrong I was about CBS not changing their awesome music. It was just as horrible as I figured.

Indeed. I have said the same thing for years. I like having daylight as late as possible. So local governments could change it if they wanted to like Phoenix?

Actually, the entire state is on Mountain Standard Time year round except for a small part (the Navajo Nation).

I always just looked at it as being on Mountain Time half of the year and Pacific Time the other half.

Yeah it runs up here. Get a package with SEC Network and you are good to go. We just use YouTubeTV here in Fort Wayne and every game is televised as far as I can tell.

They are being watched at the border patrol stations where you cross from northern Maine to Canada.

They do air them in Missouri and Arkansas, so the answer is yes to non-Southeastern states.

Yes. They're national broadcasts. I lived in Ohio for 15 years and the SEC GOTW was on CBS every Saturday during football season.

Regional broadcasts aren't really a thing anymore.

You know I think I remember CBS having the big east telecast, I had forgotten that. I can't tell you the first year CBS started broadcasting the SEC games.

I hate that CBS apparently is not going to bid for the new contract. I think CBS has done a very good job of broadcasting SEC games.
