We got them Wednesday. Seems like a scary midweek game to me especially coming off a long road trip and another game the day before that. No clue who we got on the mound either, and I’m sure UAB will give us an ace to face.

You’d think they would be better but they’re not great. South Alabama has routinely been the scary mid major from that state IIRC. Sometimes Troy.

Predicted to finish 6th in conference USA's preseason coaches poll. Dropped 2 of 3 this past weekend at the South Alabama Invitational. Pitching got hammered yesterday, you guys shouldn't have too much trouble (jmo).

they lost 2 of 3 in Mobile at South Alabama's tournament. Their coach, Casey Dunn, came from Samford after having played himself at Auburn. His late dad,Sammy, is the GOAT of HS coaching in Alabama, and has to be in the running in the USA,too.

South Alabama has been in the regional hosting discussion fairly often. Even hosted a couple. UAB just hasn't been able to get it together in baseball.

That being said, midweek games are crazy sometimes.

USA has never hosted a regional which is a crime. Haven’t looked recently but a couple of years ago they had the 16th highest winning percentage of all time.

Sorry. Could have sworn they had.

But 16th highest winning percentage of all time is legit.

That's Florida in Division I football.

My brother played for them in the 70’s. That’s all I got.

Samford recently as well. Had a great team 2 years then had a few of their best players transfer to SEC schools

Casey Dunn built himself a nice little program there. He's a great guy.

He's also starting season 2 as the UAB HC, so all you Blazer haters check back in 2-3 yrs from now and let's see what y'all have to say about the program then

Because back when they were awesome host selections were only about making money. They certainly had LSU’s national title team in 1997 on the ropes.

USA has never hosted but has played in the regional championship game about 5 times Always the brides maid never the bride. They have had some great teams over the years but always playing on the road was to big a mountain to climb. 2 or 3 of the teams they lost to in the regional finals went on to win it all.

I went to their summer camp as a kid every year. Good times and they put on a great camp.

Yeah, we had to beat them twice to advance from the 97 Baton Rouge regional after losing to them earlier in that regional. They lost to USC the following year who won the CWS. They also lost in the 1993 regional final to eventual national champ LSU.
