Canoe is nice, so are all the others mentioned.
You're not going to find a whole lot of, "good ole jawja people," in Atlanta. It's a transient city just like NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.
You'll have to wait until y'all play UGA to meet a lot of good ole jawja people.

The Varsity for a lunch or somethi98ng besides a full night out...its right by Ga Tech and Dodd Stadium is closeby...its an Atlanta tradition for a long long time...get onion rings and hamburger.

Good god. When the best thing about a restaurant is "tradition", an outsider is only being setup to be disappointed.
Avoid the varsity, tell people you went and that you love the tradition.
There are a million greasy spoons in the world, and the varsity is not one of the better ones.

This just tells me I'll never be a big timer. I don't care what it is how how good it is, I don't think I could ever see myself paying $70 for an appetizer.
Be glad you don't live in London, went on a date and it cost me $500.

If worse comes to worse, there's a Legal Seafood near the Aquarium.
