# of years bowl games have been played – 121

# of bowl games – 1,700 (not exact number, but use this one)

# of colleges/universities to play in bowl games – 150 (not exct number but use this one)

QUESTION: What's the probability that the two biggest blowouts in bowl history would occur in the same calendar year and accomplished by the same program?

...My guess would be 1-in-787.423 million.

-----------------------

Chat GPT notes

Adding these together gives us an estimated total of around 1,730 bowl games. This is a rough estimate and the actual number could be slightly higher or lower, depending on the exact count of bowl games in each era and any variations in the number of games per year. For the most accurate and up-to-date count, consulting detailed records from the NCAA or other authoritative sources on college football history would be necessary.

Given these categories, the number of different colleges and universities that have appeared in a bowl game is likely well over 100, possibly approaching or exceeding 200. This includes a wide range of schools from major football powerhouses to smaller programs that may have only made a few bowl appearances.

math on a Saturday is against the Geneva Conventions. You risk prosecution for war crimes.

You normally assume that two fairly evenly matched teams meet. FSU skewed the odds with opt outs.

The odds that the CFP committee picks the best four teams is 12,756,872,389:1

Brock Bowers did not play tonight. I was told he was UGA's whole offense. I didn't say that. But hundreds of people, right here on this very website, told me this. And they spoke authoritatively. This is what I was told.

Not enough data to compute that specific probability. Need to place all of the margin of victory into bins and count the frequency in each bin, then we can compute the probability.

Decent post Hip Swivel.

I thought WVU beat the sheep humping sister bangers by a lot one time not long ago?

Anyways, yeah, Kirby was out to make a statement both times. Congrats to UGA. I'm on a different shrimp and grits roll here in Charleston every night through New Years and tonight was at Coleman's Tap Room in Mt Pleasant where the Dag fans hang out and ... they were having a good time. They were all commenting on the same thing when the graphic showed at about the 4 min mark in the 4th .... when Muschamp's boy scrambled for the 1st down late.

Phuck Will Muschamp though - he's a POS.
