Download it before you get to the stadium and add it to your apple wallet then.
This doesn't work for UT fan's flip phones.

Is this is a lost post from 2020 or earlier?

We do have phones...we also have a 64-bit 1.0 Exaflop computer (note that the UT in UT-Battelle that manages the Oak Ridge National Laboratory is The University of Tennessee). This is the first Exascale computer in the US.
We're into advanced technology here in Tennessee.

couple years ago. Spurred by Covid but actually they saved money printing tickets

I honestly wasn't aware anywhere in the country WASN'T all digital post 2020.
showing your digital ticket is different than trying to watch a video online or make a phone call
So like $8 a game? Doesn't seem that steep. And if you are at the point where a digital ticket is so confounding taht you need the AD to mail you paper tickets instead I don't see the issue
I have no idea if that's true or not but I doubt it. Everywhere HAS an app, but in all the collegiate and proessional venues and concerts I've attended the last 2 years I haven't needed to use any of them. You receive the ticket via text/email then download it to yoru mobile wallet. No special "UT athletics" app needed.
The same? When I went to the UT game in knoxville last year my ticket was digital.
HAving said all that, I do MUCH perfer teh old school. I collect(ed...) all my sport event stubs so I despise not having that anymore. But I mean after an adjustment period this isnt' really that big a deal

UT has created what will be a nightmare. Guy in the UT office pretty much admitted it to me today. Apparently they forgot that no one can use their phone on game day within a block of that stadium.

Want to sell or give away your tickets? The receiver must have the app.

Guy sold me a digital ticket and I saved it to my photos. Scanned just fine.
