Any other SEC schools go to "all digital" tickets?

UT has created what will be a nightmare. Guy in the UT office pretty much admitted it to me today. Apparently they forgot that no one can use their phone on game day within a block of that stadium.

Can't print a ticket off on your computeer. Everything is by an app on your phone. It sucks.

Want paper tickets? Sure! They will print you some...for $50.

Want to sell or give away your tickets? The receiver must have the app. While it isn't here yet. I can smell a "convenience fee" coming.

It is like all apps, invasive of your privacy. Sounds convenient, but is a gigantic pain in the arse.

Not sure what the plan is for visiting teams.

Download it before you get to the stadium and add it to your apple wallet then.

More phones than you have teeth and shoes.

Arkansas has recently gone to this as well. You just have to remember to download your ticket to your mobile wallet before you go to the game. I have all of my tickets in my mobile wallet for every game already so that I don’t run into the service problem.

The biggest problem with it IMO is the secondary market is a train wreck now. Nobody over the age of 40 understands how it works and that creates a lot of problems.

I welcome your downvotes.

Ever since 2020, it seems that almost all major sporting events are only doing digital tickets.

This too.

I have an older couple who use my tickets every year for a couple of the smaller games.

Yep, and the apps just keep getting more invasive.

Good. The fewer physical items that Tennessee fans are allowed to bring in, the better. I could easily see UT fans using paper tickets to create a number of dangerous projectiles to launch at opposing teams

Definitely. They are trying to make every daily process as trackable for data mining as possible.

At several Ole Miss games and the Sugar Bowl last year, the ticket takers had trouble getting the handheld scanners to scan the tickets. They had to stand there and try it over and over, try different angles etc.
So, it only took maybe 45 secs to a minute for them to finally scan, but multiply that by tens of thousands! Long lines to get in and much slower than it used to be.
It just seems like it gets harder every year just to go to a game.

Most people don't understand these "free" apps. They fail to realize they are not the customer. They are the product.

Huge market for their info.

GOOD QUESTION!

Or if your phone is lost/stolen.

I appreciate you paying that extra fee so I can pluck that little ticket out of your pocket in a few months.
