I don’t think either Stillwater or Norman qualify as great college towns. No place to stay close to the stadium in Norman and what character they had around it was lost when they demolished the original O’Connell’s.

Norman is too close to OKC, which is where I would stay if I was an LSU fans coming in for this game. I always preferred parking in the residential neighborhood west of the stadium rather than getting stuck in the mass of traffic that will be south of the stadium.

They didn’t even show up to Baton Rouge on Saturday. Why would they travel to Norman?

OK, what I'm gathering from the above discussion is that I should just eat at McDonalds and stay at the Dew Drop Inn. Thanks!!!

I’ve never been like, “man I should visit Gainesville because their K-12 public school seem to be average…”

And I’ve never been like, “man, I should visit Norman. Period.”

I think it’s pretty funny that some of you think Norman is a destination town.

They aren’t showing up in Baton Rouge. Can’t imagine they travel all the way to South Dakota to see them get beat by the Sooners.

I see you're in KC...we just traveled to Norman from Lee's Summit to watch Mizzou. A couple of hints....the traffic is absolutely awful. The drivers are very aggressive.I would highly encourage you follow the route I did to cut down travel time. I was driving a large Motorcoach and stayed in Soonervillage at Lloyd Noble Center on campus. The traffic between OKC and Norman is a bumper to bumper nightmare. We avoided it completely!

I49 to Joplin
I44 to 335
I335 to 40
I40 to 240
I240 to 35
I35 to Norman

My criticism would be it doesn't have the SEC College feel to it. Very spread out geographically, and felt more like staying in an OKC suburb than a quaint college town like Columbia. Mo.

Most Sooner fans are nice. Enjoy and safe travels...MIZ

I was there for your John Blake years too.

You have a paltry 7 game lead which includes the Fran and Sherman years.

It also includes you being too scared to play us for over a decade.

One of my favorite memories was watching Slocum run the score up after your coach ran his mouth.

Now get out there and suck some dick for meth!

I’ve always wanted to attend a public execution, but since it’s us being executed I’ll skip it.

Turned out about how I expected, a pissing contest but not related to topic.

I would suggest go to OU board here and there are a few threads about travel and related stuff. If need access to post just apply.

FYI, traffic in OKC metro is heavy this place has grown way too much in past 20 years.

You can go here and see traffic cameras in all the metro area. Can download it too at app store (called Drive Oklahoma). Has cameras for Tulsa too. And then some scattered around state.plus other info and links

The below link may not always show live camera but the app does, just in case this doesn’t work I’d try the App Store (free)

Norman and Stillwater and both good but very average college towns. I actually like Tulsa a lot better than KC and Stillwater is close Tulsa

Once Sooner fans visit all the SEC games, they will realize Norman is a below average SEC destination
