Based on your language - you should be in the age group that frequents the Onion and interwebz -

Good idea to just stop - and quit throwing JC's name around and all the F bombs - ignorance is just dripping from your rants. Let the thread go and hope it goes quickly.

So let me get this straight. Everyone here thinks it's comical that I do not sit around all day surfing the internet reading up on the backgrounds of every site known to fricking man. My bad, I actually have a damn job that requires work, unlike many on here!

I posted a link with a title stating "Any Clue to the message behind this article? (Saban)"

I didn't say "does anyone know why this kid thinks Saban wants to ram his arse?"!

That was a fricking question. A simple "They are a satirical based website" would have been an easy enough answer that would have clearly answered my question. Instead, you frickers continuously talk shite because I do not spend everyday reading bullshite fabricated stories, outside of this ONE. My fricking bad for not being up-to-date in this department.

Oh and BamaChick, please point out in my last post where I "thought" the article was real?

Here, I will even repost it for you so you do not have to go back and find it.

My bad for not frequenting The Onion. I have never heard of the shite before! The link was sent to me in a text. I read it and then posted it here. I guess next time I will run a full background check on any other website I read an article from before asking a fricking question about it.

You don't need to know what the Onion is to pick up on the fact that it was satire. Really?

I dropped a few F-bombs, my bad...

To say I'm dripping with ignorance is completely laughable when compared to all the responses I received in this thread. None of which have answered my original question of what the writers message is behind the article.

Everyone was to busy laughing and high-fiving each other over the fact I didn't know the onion was based off of satire articles.

I’m really beginning to question whether anyone here really understands the meaning behind satirical literature.

The use of satire in literature refers to the practice of making fun of a human weakness or character flaw. It is often inclusive of a need or decision of correcting or bettering the character that is on the receiving end of the satire. In general, even though satire might be humorous and may “make fun”, its purpose is not to entertain and amuse but actually to derive a reaction of contempt from the reader.

While typical satire is written indirectly using fictional characters and names in place of actual characters, some writers may employ a formal satire tactic. One that involves a direct, first-person-address, either to the audience or to a listener mentioned within the work. A writer may point a satire toward a person, a country or even the entire world. In formal satire, the writer expects that whosoever he criticizes improves his character by overcoming his weaknesses.

So, back to my original question. What is the message behind this article? Why direct this at Saban?

One of the few threads I've ever enjoyed enough to read over four pages of responses. This is comedy gold and just keeps on getting more entertaining with each subsequent post by the OP. Carry on, sir.

Haha holy shite, he googled and proceeded to plagiarize the definition of satire in his explanation to sound intelligent. This is all despite the fact that he doesn't understand the point of the onion.

This has been a good day. My guess is things like the Colbert Report may get awfully confusing in the 1980 household.

Can't think of much to say that hasn't already been said, but wow. This thread is simply killing it. He won't give up!!! I just hope we can keep this going somehow as i would like to check back in during my morning coffee.

ETA: I hear this Colby Spear kid is the real deal, and Jacob Coker is looking at South Alabama now.

Judging by your post history, you're an obsessed little Aub. Which makes it even more amusing that you actually thought there was a shred of truth to this.

The message behind the article? It's the onion. There is no message. The message is to make a fake news article and present it as real so a mouth breathers like yourself might buy it.

There is no meaning behind it.

And Holy frick did you not think we were gonna immediately know you plagiarized 2 paragraphs worth of satirical definitions.

This has been a GREAT start to my morning.
