Anybody who pretends Freeze isn’t a great recruiter is kidding themselves. If he can land kids at OM, he’s gonna do just fine at Aubs.

I don’t think anyone debated that when he was hired. Now him not losing multiple games he shouldn’t is a different story.

It's a reality that will set in soon enough, but will be difficult for many to except.

Hmmm…I remember a guy that was just like that until he started stacking up 5* at Tuscaloosa.

Um what? Where and when do you think this occurred for Saban? He sure as hell wasn’t going 5-7 in year 5. Or being blown out by New Mexico State at home.

And you actually think he wasn’t a great recruiter at LSU or even Michigan State?

At the end of the day, does it really matter if Brown is bat shite crazy? End result is the guy influences easily impressionable kids. A young receiver is going to listen to the guy they grew up watching regardless of how nuts he is.

The Voice of Reason has spoken

First, UGA has taken their shine, then AU starts taking their recruits...

Now, Bama fans think Antonio Brown is the voice of reason and support.

Sad times for them...

I think kids are smart enough to remember his shenanigans over the past 4 or 5 years to not let his pre-Burfict days not carry a ton of weight.

Dude has made some absolute bone headed decisions that have mad him the laughing stock of pro WRs during and after his playing days.

He doesn't even have players best interest in mind either. You would think he would be one guy who would. But we all know he was banned from arena league shortly after becoming an owner and one of the major issues was he wasn't paying his players their salaries and not living up to his team's end of contracts. So if you're goal is to make a living playing ball, the guy who swindles players out of their money isn't a guy I'd listen to for any amount of time.

He was a 4-5 loss a year on average coach until 2008.

He did lose to UAB and La Monroe at home though.

Not near the same level he’s been at Bama, no.

It’s in the trenches where he has historically struggled. Unless he fixes that (& fast) these initial fireworks won’t result in championships. As a UT fan, I know that all too well.

That was the first thing he focused on. The OL is transfer heavy right now because he got there and realized it just wasn't going to cut it. Every position group has been upgraded since Freeze and Co got to campus. Is it good enough to win the league? No. But it's going in the right direction for the first time in 4 or 5 years.

He had an average of 8-4 through two rebuilds. With two conference titles and a national title.

Both in year one. Quite a bit different if you’re dropping those kind of games well into a tenure. At multiple stops.

He might actually think he has their best interest in mind. I wouldn't ever claim to know this guy's motivations or if what he is saying is self serving at any particular moment. They change from one minute to the next. People who are as whacked out as he is rarely are 100% bad or self centered. Not sure they always understand what they are doing is wrong and have a 1+2=4 logic in their head that tells them what they are doing is right.

Every stop Freeze has been at has been a rebuild. And this is his 1st job at a top 10-15 program.
