All reports are saying a cop was shot and that there is a second victim.

Can you confirm it was a cop? And they could have helped the cop.

According to the news, yes.

It takes minutes for cops to responds to these things, but only seconds for bystanders to do so. I agree with CNB.

place is a complete shite hole..happens every 6 months or so there...

The most heinous of all of them besides the obvious one is the brutal sexual torture, murdering, and dismembering of 2 young students there 2 years ago...that was swept WAY under the rug because of the racial overtones (the victims were white...the 10 brutal monsters were..not white)

Why do you think that would be better than the cop wearing his gun on his hip?

People are a lot less likely to pull this shite when they know that there could be more than one guy with a gun. Ga Tech students are lobbying to be allowed to carry concealed weapons on campus because of all of the crime that has been taking place there as well.

I have a few friends who work at Va Tech. They've been on fb and stuff, so they're not too concerned.

What you are suggesting would be mayhem and their would be even more shootings. Cops shoot people all the time wrongly identifying a weapon thinking they are in danger.

If a cop is getting shot at by someone and another person pulls a gun the cop then would think there are multiple shooters and return fire at that person also. Blah blah blah. End of my little rant on this subject.. Back to work.

Whoa, very sad comment on our society. Time for gun control. Or at least stricter gun control.

Condolences, prayers, and best wishes to Va. Tech.

So arm everyone? That'll help tons.

Let me guess. You think if people had concealed weapons they would start firing randomly at the first sign of danger?

If you making owning a gun a crime, then the only people with guns are criminals.

I see your point, but I disagree.

If I was in a classroom, and someone walked in with a gun and started firing...what would happen if a student in the classroom had a gun, and shot the gunman? More lives are saved.

Google the Newsom/Christian Murders.

It will make you sad, sick and FURIOUS.
And it was swept under the rug.

Absolutely INFURIATING

Then there was THIS one 2 years ago, totally separate event
I'm telling you, that place is an absolute shithole.

Think? No, I'm pretty goddamn sure. Not everyone with a permit is A)Sane B) Trained to shoot in high stress situations.

Also, I'm the son of a cop. I've got many friends on HRT/Swat/Search Warrant teams. The last thing they need is 15 different people exchanging fire in a crowded area like a school building. They don't really have time to tap people on the shoulder and ask who the aggressor is.

Not everyone one would armed, but there's nothing wrong with letting responsible students who obtain a concealed carry permit to have a gun on campus. It's not like college students are bangers....
