Trey Sanders is a 5 star and the #1 RB in 2019 and 17th highest rated recruit all-time at Alabama.

He would start on 99% of all teams. It's just one of those unique luxuries that Alabama has.

Losing JoJo Earle takes away any threat of a long punt return which could be the difference in a close game. Slade Bolden isn't going to break free for a long one.

It’s funny because it’s true.

Where did I say that Trey Sanders wasn't playing well when he plays? I just said he has been used sparingly.

I asked you what you're seeing. That's all. Why be defensive when I just wanted your opinion?

Not sure what you're seeing but every time Trey Sanders comes into the game he's moving the ball. A completely different style. Very patient and smooth. He sees an opening and he's upfield. Just not getting the touches. That will change.

Yes but Trey Sanders is still not 100%.

I've said this on the Alabama board a few times, but in Spring scrimmages Kool-Aid McKinstry was returning punts.

Not sure why we haven't seen him back there yet (but we might).

Not until he’s healthy. And he may never be what he once was. Or had the potential to be. That injury was bad.

Right now I’ll take just fielding with a fair catch every time.

He had a serious injury in the car accident. He MAY not ever be the same. He's certainly not right now.

He wouldn't be out there if he wasn't 100%.

It's mostly mental which will improve with more carries.

I remember reading an article that said when Jeff Allen answered the phone, the doctor's first words were "We think he's going to make it."

Thus he might be lucky just to be alive, let alone playing football.

We have 1.5 RBs left right now.

People saying Trey is “deliberate” are dreaming, he’s hesitant post injury and it’s cost him half his explosiveness. All you have to do is watch his HS and freshman tape compared to Saturday and it’s glaringly obvious why the coaches didn’t want him in there this year.

He looked like a 30 year old RB in the NFL whose body is quitting on him.

I think Trey can be an NFL guy again, but he’s not gonna hit that ceiling this season IMO.

Bolden must be reliable catching the ball which is obviously the most important thing. But would love to see somebody else back there who has the potential to break it.

Yep, over the years I have come to believe that Saban just wants someone back there to catch the ball.

I think Christion Jones gave him heart attacks when he'd try to one-arm it on the run or grab it off a bounce.

I agree he's healed to the point there's no medical risk of him playing but the truth of whether he'll return to old form is something that none of us know. As the stories later told, the injury was far worse than anyone knew.

Hopefully, it is just rust and missing confidence, but when the first thing the ER docs tell the team doc is "we think he's going to make it", we aren't talking something like an ACL.

The first time I saw Jones do his thing was in the NC game vs LSU after Maze pulled the hamstring. I was puckered up but he was a cool customer.

He (and we) were spoiled by Javier Arenas.
