An anonymous scout said Alabama OG Chance Warmack "scares the hell" out of him because he's "not real bright". "They tell you he can't play more than one position and you have to be careful in games what kind of adjustments you make," the scout said. "Not a real bright kid. He kind of reminds me of (Seattle's James) Carpenter. You see stuff that's impressive, then later in the game he starts to fade. For me, a guard has to be perfect to take in the first round. Because how much difference is there in that guy and a guy you take in the fourth?" Source: Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Feb 25 - 6:00 PM

Interdasting.

I've not really ever heard Warmack talk in an interview, but for a scout to remain "anonymous" and bring this up is kind of bizarre.

Could be trying to drop his stock so his team can snag him deeper in the draft.

With so many Rhodes scholars at guard in this year's draft, he could fall to the mid to late rounds.

The dude played on one of the best OL's in college history and was a 3 year starter for a demanding coach. He may not be a brain surgeon but I'm sure he can pick up an NFL blocking scheme since at least half of the players in the NFL couldn't pass at a top-notch private high-school.

Sounds like a smoke screen to try and drop his stock in hopes up picking him up later in the 1st round. Packers scout maybe?

I hate when this crap comes up after every combine...

If true, that scout should lose his license.

This is most likely from a team that's just a couple spots behind where he is projected to go. Every year a no one is praised and a stud is slammed. I wouldn't really put any stock in this or for anyone. Why would a team want to help the competition out by knowing who not to draft.

Meh, there are a good bit that come out that aren't bright, and they're still successful. He will be one.

Seriously though, I am surprised to read that about Warmack. He seemed really well spoken and sharp in his interview that I watched, and he rarely botched a blocking scheme while at Bama.
