WTH are you talkung about? TCU wasn't in the Big 12, so its been almost 30 years since A&M played TCU In football in the same conference.
A&M doesn't consider TCU a rival any more than Florida considers Stetson a rival. Or LSU considers Centenary a rival. Or Bama considers Samford a rival. OR TN considers Rhodes a rival.

On topic, guess which fan base this discourse has come from once again? The University of Texas system with nine schools holds about $11B.
OU’s athletic department has been one of the few in the black for many, many years and the SEC makes the margin that much bigger.

Eh? Texas won a CFB championship in 2005 and played for another 3 years later. No, we're not Alabama, but Texas' position as a top athletic AND academic university isn't in dispute with anyone serious.

Pierce’s seat was getting hot for the past two seasons. When Pierce made himself the pitching coach this year, flopped as a pitching coach, and couldn’t figure out portal, he nosedived. He gone.
Schlossnagle has been discussed as a potential replacement for Pierce all year - for most if us the #1 guy. Many thought ‘no way’, thinking he was too ensconced at CS.
Look, Texas has been dissed by many potential coaches in all sports throughout history. Sark was our #2 choice. Pierce was, like, our #7 choice. On and on.
It just so happens, happily for Texas, that there was deep alignment between Texas and Schlossnagle:
* CDC relationship
* Schlossnagle’s a city man (18 years in the Metroplex)
* liked the power structure in Austin
* liked Texas baseball history
* family never moved to B/CS
* Augie Garrido admiration
* never bought a house in B/CS (I think this is correct)
You guys really need to get over it. Until y’all win consistently in some sport and develop a blueblood history, if y’all can get over yourselves, then maybe this kind of pain won’t happen to you. A&M is a fine school and all, but y’all are not elite at any and you haven’t been elite since 1939.
