I'm not so certain Alabama will win, in all honesty. I highly doubt the total combined points will be more than 30.

Haha. Not mad, just don't understand arrogance as a whole, nor why people are like that.

The linebackers we have are hardly a weakness. Are they as talented of a group as they were last year? Probably not. But CJ Mosley and Nico Johnson are both talented and capable leaders of that linebacker corps.

Which is exactly why I phrased my last post as I did. If indeed we have this advantage, it is imperative we establish a relevant threat in that area.

I expect to see a lot of screens (as I mentioned a week or two ago) and short passes to back off the d-line. We haven't thrown checkdowns to the RB like we have in years past. I have a feeling they will have a lot of opportunities this weekend against a depleted LB corps at LSU. I really have no idea, but I'm excited to see our offensive gameplan this week and I hope it works in our favor.

I agree to a certain extent. Our LB coros has only lost a couple backups. Minter is highly underrated, and Barrow is fast as all hell. I think RB screens may see success, but WR screens are not a good idea. Our DBs headhunt on that play, especially Reid.

Yeah, our CBs have struggled a bit getting off blocks. I expect to see alot of screens as well. DEs need to get their hands up.

while the LB hasn't lost very much, it still seems to be the weak spot at times. I did say depleted, but in reality it is more about strength. I feel the weakness on LSU's defense is the LBers. They are big and mean as everyone on LSUs roster is; however, they seem to be lost at times or are crowding each others assignments or just simply giving up after first push. They're still good players, but compared to the rest of the D...weak.

I think our DBs are getting off blocks fine. They didn't against A&M because they were playing 8 yds off. It was part of the containment gameplan for Little Johnny. Lol.

Again, I'll agree in moderation. Weakest part of our D, but their run support is near flawless. I think where the weakness lies is in intermediate passes. Outside of Minter, they lack the core coverage skills we have had before, and are routinely beat in hurry up modes.

Lemme guess lemme guess...Alabama has fat slow linebackers? Idk about what you said concerning LSU as I haven't watched them enough to pick up on what you said. It doesn't matter what Alabama does...LSU almost always runs the ball well against them. Should be a fun weekend.

1). Watching the Bama game against Grinder State, I realized a strength that we can put to use on Offense. It seemed like early in the game, State ran the ball effectively from the gun, with an extra blocker on the line. We have a few players whose strengths are built for that style of play. I think that is our ticket to an early score. Bama is not as fast laterally as they have been the past few years.

Dude I think you are reaching very very hard. I just watched the game again and Miss State had two good runs in the first half. They had one for 8 yards but it was Russell under center. They had one decent run for 5 yards from shotgun.

I really think you just threw something out there to see if it would stick and nobody would notice.

They were clearly TRYING to stretch the field. They did it from the gun and under center. I highlighted gun for us because Mett makes me a nervous wreck from under center on outside runs. Also, never did I say they were overly successful, I in fact pointed out their lack of success in that area due to lack of blocking.

If anything, our LBs are faster than last year.

About the only success anyone has had against our defense has been by throwing the ball to the RB/TE coming out of the backfield.

Well what do you call successful. They had one run from the gun for 5 yards in the 1st half. I'm not talking overly success. They were not even decent running football in the 1st half against Alabama.

Like I said. I think you are reaching very hard. The only decent run they had from the gun in the 1st half to the outside went for 2 yards.
