Yeah, they are done. They had a sparse few moments in time when they shined over the years.
Overall, they have always been a relative unknown. It's a hick culture that prevails down there surrounded by cow pastures and Opelika.
When you get there it's like, is this it? Is this weird culture of country bumpkin pretending to be highly moralistic intellectuals all there is? It is about as fake and odd feeling as can be imagined.
Creepy is a good way to describe the whole scene/atmosphere and they literally worship trees as deities. If you stay too long, it's very easy to start imagining you are on the set of a horror movie.

The problem with auburn is it’s always been a decent but not great program. It’s got a couple good stretches, but nothing sustained in recent years. None of the kids playing today grew up thinking auburn was a powerhouse.
