Am I the only one who think Alabama is a HORRIBLE matchup for LSU this year?

Forget score predictions because anything can happen in any game. Most years I feel the two teams have had great matchups all over the field. Great vs great everywhere.

This year seems much different. LSU's WRs aren't getting it done and I haven't been this comfortable with Alabama's secondary since I'v been alive. This is an area where LSU almost always makes big plays against Alabama...I don't see that this year.

Mett being pretty green is also going to be a big hurdle for LSU because of the confusion Alabama's defense causes.

The run game should be pretty much the same. LSU and their awesome RB's trying to smash it down the field against a very good run D. LSU usually has success doing this against Alabama and will probably have some this game too.

Alabama's offense vs LSU defense should be a little more predictable. LSU is great again. Alabama's offense is a little bit better this year.

If LSU shuts them down I see it being VERY close. If Alabama can get 17 points I see them cruising to victory.

Thoughts on where the game will be won?

this will be the difference. The receiver they have don't really do a good job of getting open as it is, so completions won't come easy against alabama.

I expect lots and lots of blitzing, meaning met will be deer in headlights when the scripted plays are up

Mett just doesn't seem that good.

He missed some wide open receivers against us and our poor little defense held them to 7 three and outs.

Yet he still accounted for more TD's than Johnny fricking Football. Go figure.

Does that make him good?

Let me rephrase that: Do you really think he's going to be good enough to beat Alabama?

1. LSU Young Oline

Three backups starting right now (two freshmen). They have to continue to step up and play well, particually from a mental stand point. They haven't had to read and adjust to complex combo gap blitzes yet.

2. Mettenberger.

He has to make the jump Mcaaron made from end of the last year to the BCSNCG, during the bye week.

That said, anything is possible in Death Valley, I wouldn't be surprised to see LSU win the turnover battle. If they do then

If we don't bring our A+ game we are in trouble but under Les we almost always bring it for these type of games. 2008 Florida and the BCSCG last year are the only two games like this that a Les team just hasn't shown up in a big spot.

Makes him a winner. I will take points and wins over yards and moral victories.

I think LSU will play like a bunch of pitbulls hopped up on speed. The game will be close, and I hope to walk out of BR with a W...even if UA just squeaks out a win.

LSU can only score points this season on non-SEC teams. Bama is a bit stronger offensively I think. It will be another defensive struggle with Bama winning by 10.

this is not a JFF thread

It matters not what he did, the fact remains that mett looked like shite against TAMU and has looked like shite the majority of the time. That's not really disputable

We get it aTm....all last week you had a defense that was better than USC, LSU, and UF....and was only a nut hair from being Bama's equal....but when you lose your defense sucks

We get it.

As for the OP I think that LSU could match up very well with Alabama where it counts....the LOS.....but I'm sure you don't see it that way and nothing I can say will change your mind so I'll let it be.

I hope this happens too. Alabama's coverage this year has been amazing. Almost every single pass down field is a game of 500 with a safety and CB. Lester has been everywhere.

Exactly.

Dude just didn't look good against A&M and our defense is pretty bad. Against a good defense (Florida or Alabama) he's going to have a very bad day.

Yes.

One thing they will have to do though is throw the ball. Complete or incomplete IDGAF but if bama is showing 9 in the box like A&M did at times, you have to back the LB's and safeties up some. They should come out throwing to setup the run. Who knows, still 2 weeks away.
