This game will come down to Mett, plain and simple. LSU has the D and the running game to go punch for punch with Bama. The crowd will be insane and the players will be hyped all game.

The difference is does Mett come out and play mistake free, taking what the D gives him like he did against SC? Or do we fall into a pattern of predictable play calling?

Personally, I honestly think we'll come out with a good game plan like we did against SC. One thing that gives me some confidence is that despite the fact Mett has been horribly inconsitent this year, he still has the ability to get in rhthym at times at hit big plays. I did not feel that way at all with JJ at the helm. At the very least, Bama knows we will at least attempt to push the ball downfield in the air, which is the complete opposite of 1/9.

Did you have any of these feelings during the last 5 regular season match-ups?

2007 @ BDS = 41 - 34 LSU
2008 @ TS = 27 - 21OT Gumps
2009 @ BDS = 24 - 15 Gumps
2010 @ TS = 24 - 21 LSU
2011 @ BDS = 9 - 6OT LSU

The threat of a big WR and an experienced QB was huge for LSU the past few years. It might have looked horrible for half the game but had big play potential. I don't see that with te matchups this year is what I'm saying. Of course it's going to be slow and hard hitting all night in the trenches.

IMHO, you have not had a cornerback as susceptible to the double move as Belue is in quite a while. If we get a big play, it will be because of his over- agressiveness.

I also don't think your O-line is quite as good in pass rush as last year and I personally think Mingo and Montogomery will get some good pressure on AJ, partiularly on Fluker's side. You guys will not have seen that type of speed rushing by ends this season having not played UF or USCe.

Ummm....the next game is a REGULAR SEASON GAME. You know, the one with only 4 days to prepare coming the week after a game before and mixed in with all the other things that come with a REGULAR SEASON GAME.

That is a tad different than the one that comes 2 months after the last game.

Don't be an arse. The regular season match-ups are the ones that are relevant to Nov. 3rd.

Then it is fair to say that the "revenge factor" will not be included in your talking points, correct?

IMO revenge factor generally fades the first time you get hit in the mouth... what matters is if you want to punch them in the teeth or just go fetal instead

Idk bout that. Belie looked pretty good last game. Yeah Fluker scares me with y'alls speed. They seemed to hold well the last few times they've met. But make no mistake...we'll hear Mont and Mingo's names called a few times.

I have to laugh. Bama fans have been the favorites in every game since 2009. They have had the advantage at quarterback in each of those matchups. For some reason NOW a quarterback liability is too much for LSU to overcome. You lost to Jefferson--twice. Lee took you to overtime. Alabama has the advantage. It only meant something since you guys got Saban one time. Just remember that.

Considering one of them played a top 5 Defense and the other played a horribad defense....

I think this may be the most lopsided game between LSU and UA in the past 5 years, as far as talent goes. LSU is missing too many starters. What-A-Berger doesn't seem to be on the same page as his receivers. I don't think that LSU's secondary is ready for AJ, maybe the old AJ but not the AJ at QB right now. He is making better decisions, taking care of the ball and leading his team instead of managing the game. I think AJ will be more 1/9 than 11/3.

All that being said, LSU still has the best tandem of outside rusher in the SEC, D-line does their job better than anyone, We have 4 RB that can hurt any team in the FBS and our LB is better than last year. Geaux Tigers. :fearthehat:

I'm hoping that the new guys on the LSU O-line shite their pants when presented with complex stunts and blitz schemes.

Pleas please please please stunt on a primary running team. We will gash you with the unbalanced look just like we have in the regular season for the last 3 years.

I'll be sure to let Coach Saban know just as soon as I stop overlooking State.

Was your OLine as jumbled as it is now in that time frame?

Meh...there was something about JJ that just got shite done when he had to. He had some HUGE plays against Alabama that turned a completely even game to a LSU win.

Biggest match-up of the game. If LSU's secondary doesn't show up with an A+ performance, there is no way it will be close.

However, I think this bye will really help. It's hard to see anyone on LSU's D not show up big in tiger stadium.

Our 2008 and 2009 lines were horrible. Some of the worst since Dinardo and Hallman.

ETA: as it turned out you were the poster who thought you guys would stunt to stop the run. I take back this paragraph. Come on, chief.
