Yes. You are literally the only person to think it’s a good hire. You are extremely unique. Way to go!!

As I understand it, BSU has a tremendous advantage over the rest of the MWC in terms of talent and facilities.
It's in Idaho. How can they have a recruiting advantage?

He either will win the league or be gone in 6 years.
We shall see.

They consistently recruit better than any other team in the MWC, historically. Why, I don't know.
shite, I could get recruited to Boise pretty easily...but I'm a cracker with a penchant for mountains.

At this level (SEC) it all boils down to crootin. Most every coach who gets hired in the SEC is gonna have proven himself in the X's and O's dept at other stops. So I don't think that's gonna be an issue.
It will boil down to if he can flip at least a few 5 stars here and there.

RIP Shane Beamer

He has had enough time to screw it up at Boise State. But he was still winning 10 plus games.

They have recruited California pretty hard. While they do play an easier schedule, they did have a lot of power five wins including Georgia.

He’s another Malzhan. Good for 8/year.

Bama is not Portland State. UGA is not Wyoming.
Although, Wyoming did get Fulmer fired that one time...

The hire is what I expected for Auburn. Not because Auburn is a bad job but you don't see many big name hires anymore.

Pretty much. Power 5 and SEC is a different animal than he’s used to

I was talking more of the Chris Peterson tenure.

Recruiting will be the most interesting part. Boise lived off of recruiting the mid-tier guys in Southern California and the Bay Area and beating our Arizona, Arizona St, Oregon St even UCLA.
It's just different. Doesn't mean he can't do it.

Oh yea - they beat good Power 5 teams regularly.

Hell, I just think it's funny that he took over for Malzahn at Arkansas State, and now he's doing it again at Auburn.

I don't see any reason this is a bad hire. I didn't expect Auburn to make a splash hire.
On paper he is a better hire than Sam Pittman, Lane Kiffin and Eli Drinkwitz from last year.
