Don’t know Texas very well.
Texas will be given every extra at every turn. They are media darlings and y’all are about to learn what it means to have Texas rip your hearts out after they lose and every sane person says they shouldn’t get in.
They will get in anyway. They are Texas and you are not.

They'll get in and get a playoff win against Boise, BYU, SMU, or Indiana. They're not winning a championship though.

Correct. Odds are another 10-2 SEC team will lose by then, and ND will lose against Army or at USC thus bumping them out of the playoffs. Texas being ranked 3rd won’t drop below 11 for a road loss at A&M.
That being said, Texas has a better offense and defense than A&M does. Do with that information what you will.

Totally NOT saying A&M might not lose. I’m saying for Texas it really doesn’t matter. As long as they beat Kentucky they are in.

Because those teams that beat the above teams lost to Arkansas, Kentucky and Vandy… all of which Texas beat.

TX would take three 10-2 regular seasons SEC teams out of the playoff in that scenario just by losing a game themselves....
