Think Arkansas would be close to level with State but not ahead. Programs are pretty close to each other success wise. Though State is ahead in most metrics.

It’s hilarious to watch little brother programs put together their own program ranking methods. You almost never see the big boys doing things like that, because they don’t have to.
Although I have to admit Alabama retroactively claiming that 1940’s title where we finished #20 in the AP is an all time little brother move. A relic of a time when we were desperate for the national attention we were used to but had not earned post-Bryant.

So aside from Kentucky, and I assume you’ll for sure say Auburn and Missouri, which other SEC programs are you saying Bama is better than?
Bama loves to hide behind SEC titles as a main metric to rank their program, conveniently making it impossible to be behind the expansion programs of Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Texas A&M which all have a much better all time resumes.
Alabama has been to 2 national title games. Their record in the world series is 11-10.
Auburn's world series record is 3-10.
Congrats on making it one more time and promptly losing both games.

Yeah, that one is dumb, but there are at least 2 others that we were arguably the best program in the country and didn’t claim one. Think we had one in the 60s where we went undefeated and they gave it to someone who had either lost or tied (think the South was frowned upon at that time for political reasons).

You did a lot of work for such a dainty troll job.
I'll gift you a 2/10 strictly out of respect for the hustle and work ethic.

The conference is full of teams who could claim those type seasons including Ole Miss, Auburn, Arkansas, etc. The point is that when you have won 15+ undisputed titles, why tarnish them with a couple wtf ones?

Meh, don't see how you can consider Texas the forefront. LSU is most definitely the top. They have 8 trophies and winning two of those in 3 years. Have to give credit where credit is due.
We have championships in the 90s, 2000’s, and 2020’s with a championship appearance in the 2010’s. Easily the most consistent program of the last 40 years.
It’s been 20 years since Texas’ last title and they also experienced a 25 year drought from ‘50 to ‘75.
It’s really not a close comparison between, imo, if you value championships.

It gets hard to determine all-time greatest. Like has been pointed out, LSU pre-Skip was irrelevant, never a factor.
Once you get to Skip, we're clearly #1. So you have to reconcile that.
Same with USC; they're basically mediocre... with a decade of titles inserted. It's like the UCLA basketball run with Wooden. Impossible to ignore, but skews where they otherwise would be rated.

the bottom line is that 2 additional national titles are not enough to overcome Texas having 27 more NCAA Tournament appearances and 18 more appearances in Omaha.
This is saying Texas should be awarded more points for losing more times. Appearances don't mean shite... do you have a case filled with CWS appearance trophies?

Yes they do. Otherwise they wouldnt be tracked and your head coach wouldnt be given a bonus for the appearance.

That was a great idea. Points for making a Super Regional is a perfect way to add additional points for recent success.

Yes. True.

Exactly this. This is why USC falls to #3 in my list and isn’t #1. They have only one National Title in the last 47 years. They’ve only been to Omaha 4x in 47 years. You can’t be #1 all time with that type of performance over a near half century.
It’s also why the metric spits Texas out at #1. They’ve been by far the most consistent program over the history of the sport
Texas trips to the CWS by decade:
1940s: 1 (1 title)
1950s: 4 (1 title)
1960s: 7
1970s: 6 (1 title)
1980s: 7 (1 title)
1990s: 2
2000s: 6 (2 titles)
2010s: 3
2020s: 2
That’s insane consistency.

That 62/24/0 for FSU will never not blow my mind. That’s almost statistically impossible not to luck into at least 1 championship.
