I mean, it isn't THAT big a stretch. It isn't like Bregman was a 8th round pick.

Swanson was the #1 pick and Bregman was the #2 pick.

No, not at all. Going off memory they were probably the 2nd and 3rd best players in the league last year, but there was juts one spot on the first team.

Yea, I love Swanson. Quite frankly I'm still in disbelief that the D-Backs gave us Swanson and Blair (led alone Inciarte) for Shelby Miller.

I still can't fathom what exactly was going on in that front office meeting.

Seems like you're mainly just being a homer and don't want to own it. Using your logic, Senzel deserves b/c he is a far superior player to Boomer White.

And I disagree about Swanson being the superior player last year as did plenty others. It was very close and could go either way. I also think Bregman kind of got a bump b/c his CAREER was so much better than Swanson's. Bregman had 3 good seasons at LSU at SS. Swanson only started 2 years and one at 2B.

I appreciate how in baseball it's a legit "First Team" unlike basketball where 12 players make "1st Team."

Except only 5 players make first team in basketball.

He is huh?

Senzel
AVG - .340
OBP - .441
SLUG - .581
OPS - 1.022

White
AVG - .424
OBP - .500
SLUG - .551
OPS - 1.051

Not at all. You seem to have something against the 2 studs from A&M. When you factor in those 2 being on a winning team and playing against a tougher schedule, its not that close.

Why did you leave off these numbers?

SB
Senzel 23
White 7

HR
Senzel 8
White 3

Defense? Overall athleticism and talent?

Senzel will be a Top 10 overall pick next month. If you're holding team success (or lack therof) against Senzel then yeah, I can't do anything for you.

HR is captured in the SLUG. SB is not a critical # of importance compared to the others.

They do that every year in all sports.

Draft position has zero to do with All SEC teams.

I'm well aware of such. But earlier you implied Swanson was a far better player than Bregman (which is highly debatable). There is a much bigger gap between the talent level of Senzel and White. And like you presented, the numbers are relatively similar.

I'll take Senzel. As would most others.

Interesting that that #1 team in the country only has 4 players on that list and Peter Alonso isn't on it.

So is it talent level now?

Swanson - .335 .423 .623 1.046
Bregman - .323 .412 .535 .947

Swanson also scored 17 more runs and drove in 15 more runs.

Did I say he was far better? I thought I said it was close (2nd & 3rd in the league). Regardless they were both great, but it was clear to me that Swanson had the better year.

Runs and RBI's are team-dependant stat. I give them little to now consideration.

He can't throw the ball back to the pitcher without pausing/jerk motion. It's painful to watch.

I'm guessing that this refers to the unorthodox way that he throws the ball back to the pitcher or on steal attempts.

I wouldn't consider SBs near as important Runs or RBIs. And you would think someone who stole so many bases would score more.

I probably should have included Alonso but he's hurt now---the voters typically award close calls or straight up put the players from the top teams on the All-Conference lists in favor of often more-deserving/better players on worse teams. I didn't do that with MY LIST. MY LIST was not a prediction of how the coaches/media will vote.
