This could go down as the best wide receiver corps in SEC history before it's all said and done. First and foremost, you have a junior 1st Team All-American and Heisman runner-up throwing them the football.

You have a junior 1st Team All-American and last year's Biletnikoff winner leading the receiving corps. You also have another junior who runs a sub-4.3 forty and has been clocked with a top speed of 23 MPH. And then you have a junior wide receiver who caught the game-winning touchdown in the 2018 CFB Playoff National Championship Game and a sophomore who was second on the team in receiving yards as well as freshman All-American last year rounding out the group. What's more...they all block extremely well down field.

We have entered the pass-happy phase of Nick Saban's career. Bryant had a similar phase in the late-60s/early-70s when he had QBs like Scott Hunter under center. I think in 2020 you're going to see us return to a more run-balanced team. With weapons like these on the outside, however, I don't see a 1,000-yard rusher in the cards for 2019.

They were pretty legit last year as well...and the year before that. So I agree. RTR.

Jeudy is really fun to watch. I hope he has a good season minus the LSU game

And they lost their identity. They went 8-3,6-5,6-5-1.Defense got soft giving up tons of points (for Bryant's defenses).

But they went to the wishbone the next year and were off to the races.

Bryant was also dealing with negative recruitment issues, too. There were many coaches throughout the SEC and the nation who were telling high school players that Alabama had an embarrassment of riches and that they'd never see the field. That was in the day of unlimited scholarships and teams could be as big as the coaches wanted them to be. Now every team is limited to just 85 scholarship players.

There were also rumors that Bryant's days were numbered in the college ranks and that the NFL would soon call him. Bryant almost pulled the trigger with the Miami Dolphins but ended up declining the job offer. It worked out for Miami in the end because second choice was a man named Don Shula.

Hopefully we seen them run more traditional route trees out a more pro-style, traditional offense.

Firmly believe the move to a total RPO scheme instead of a pro-style scheme with RPO specific plays was an issue against better defenses and when we needed to mash people.

You are 100% right about this. We were also use to getting big, explosive plays throughout the season so when we had to execute in the red zone it didn't work out. RPO is still an important aspect of Bama's offense and it needs to be but you will see much more pro style this season.

Truly a special group. It will be wonderful to track their progression over the season as they climb the mountain relative to what they are trying to accomplish, aiiggt

Yea,returning Heisman Trophy finalists generally are bad quarterbacks.

How dumb are you? I loathe you. Because of you I took up for A&M yesterday and now Alabama.

How 'bout the guy we had throwing to 'em in the Orange Bowl last season? But then again, playing against the OU defense, doesn't much matter whose making those throws...

Waddle is the best of the bunch. Unfortunately he’s a year behind, and Saban doesn’t replace starters with younger guys

No, he isn't. Jeudy is the receiver in the country and it isn't even a debete.

Waddle is about as quick a guy in pads as I've seen, but he is not a better WR right now than Jeudy. Jeudy is the proto-type.

You mean 2017, right? The game for the 2017 NC, or am I misunderstanding?
