If he gets acquitted why wouldn’t we accept him back? If he gets convicted he’ll likely be in jail.
I would be very surprised if he did anything other than take a pre-trial diversion plea with drug court to get the charge expunged, assuming that this is his first serious run in with the law(to my knowledge it is).

Sounds like he has some issues he needs to get resolved in his life that are more important than sports. Too many are used for their sports skills and then forgotten when their eligibility is up.
