Those linebackers being out has made a dramatic difference from years past. Quinnen Williams departure is also noticeable as well. There isn’t a dominant defensive lineman.

Georgia fans, I think this is your year to take this thing.

South Carolina, at home, is a tougher out than most want to admit.

It doesn't matter how bad their defense is, unless Tua gets hurt every team is going to be a big underdog to Bama. That offensive speed is just unfair

DJ dale the new DT is pretty disruptive I was impressed. They have a young defense that will get better as the year goes.

Georgia has the talent on defense to slow them down to a degree. South Carolina couldn't generate a pass rush. Georgia got to Tua consistently in last years SECCG.

I don't see Bama slowing down Georgia at all. They could hardly slow down South Carolina.

Tua was also hurt in that game. He sprained his right ankle on the first drive of the game and wasn't really the same after that. Which is why the Georgia fan above said that if Tua stays healthy, it will be difficult to slow down the Alabama offense. And he's right.

He sprained his ankle(s) because Georgia was successfully pass rushing.

He dinged up his leg in camp and is still wearing a brace. Not sure he's back to 100% yet.

I agree. Those linebacker are very good but very young and it shows. I know this sounds stupid but it makes the season more fun to me when we are more evenly matched against opponents. I’m nervous about the LSU game already and it’s over a month away. That makes football better to me!!

Two freshman inside linebackers in their first SEC game/SEC road game. Hopefully it will improve as they gain experience.

It will improve for sure and they will be great in the future but they are young!

Yep. I'm glad we had some struggles yesterday. We weren't challenged last year until the end of the season, and really struggled responding to it.

A&M is going to be a dog fight as well. Jimbo will know how to attack those MLBs and test them.

Bama has a long road ahead to get close to being a really good defensive team. Long Road.

but you're going to have to score many points to beat them...just saying

That happened in the 4th qtr.

Tua was injured at some point maybe mid season, cant remember which game. Bama nursed him through the remaining season games. He reinjured one leg early in the seccg and then was put out in the 4th by his own lineman.

Alabama's defense has shown to be vulnerable early in the season in the last few years and then turned out to be much better as the season progressed. '14 West Virginia, '15 Ole Miss, '16 Arkansas, '17 Colorado State, and '18 Arkansas were all games Alabama looked lost on defense. The team has some younger players out there that should get better as the year wears on.

Tua was initially hurt in the Mizzou game, and played the rest of the season hurt. That injury was his knee.
