It's a smart move by UT. If they stay mediocre, no harm, they get to claim it was a tough early season challenge. If they get better, and win one of these to start a season, it's the boost they need to stay highly ranked. They'll be good again one of these years, and Saban will retire by 2040 or so.

"Bitching for good reason"

Agree to disagree. We don't get to pick our opponents in the kickoff classics.

They have Arkansas scheduled in 2020 and 2021 and have been recruiting some of the top prospects in Arkansas.

1. When you play a conference schedule as tough as the sec you can't put a tough matchup just anywhere in the scheduled. You need a tune up game before an auburn or an Lsu.
2. Even if you could who would we have possibly landed after we found out our kickoff opponents? Getting a "blue blood" for a home and home takes years ahead scheduling. There schedules are set as well. Your not gonna be able to convince say a Oklahoma st or a Georgia Tech to come to Tuscaloosa for 1 game and those types of teams are not gonna get a return game from us. There is no benefit to us traveling to Stillwater or down town ATL.
3. The fact that everyone is on tv now had giving the middling teams to much of a big head. Bama and other sec teams tried for years to get Boise to visit the southeast but they wouldn't do it without a return game. The same issue is happening now with the central floridas of the world.

It's really not that hard to figure out if you are not an unreasonable bitch.

Flying is better but guess what the main Hwy is into South Bend?

US 31. Montgomery Hwy! I had a son that interviewed for grad school after Bama. We got on Hwy 31 then I-65 then got back on 31 in Indianapolis. Basically same two highways from Alabaster, AL to South Bend, IN.

Those Louisville tickets in Orlando must be selling like total shite.

The 2019 Duke in Atlanta game will be even worse.

Alabama's guaranteed their money...that's somebody else's problem.

They must’ve read the threads. I will be the one to admit these would be vast improvements.

Where is AU24 and the rest of his crew telling us how Bama doesn't schedule quality opponents?

Well you haven't scheduled them yet, this article is purely a rumor as of this time.

Most of the Bama fans do not care as long as A-Day is still free.

If you believe this go to the Bama board. There are about 4 threads bitching about the schedule.

Bama will handle its business

Y’all should just focus on Washington. Try not to shite the bed, embarrass the conference, and drag down everyone’s strength of schedule.

Coincidentally enough, Notre Dame and Texas are also the only two programs whom Bama has a poor head to head record against (2-5 against ND, 1-7 against Texas). It would be nice to get two wins against both programs to make the head to head record look better.

Was really hoping the 2020 game in Arlington would be Nebraska. We’ve already played USC in that kickoff game.

Well, in UCF and Boise's defense... as much as this pains me to say... they should not come here without a return game. Years and years of building a program up to a certain point and you go on the road like a Sunbelt team for a handjob and a thanks for dropping by?

Am I saying they are SEC level teams? Well no. But I understand why they are declining one and done on our home fields. There have been some legitimately great G5 teams over the years that could have competed for a national title.

Not every year. Maybe once a decade. But if you are in possession of that once in a decade level team... do you go to Alabama for a thanks for coming out and here is your paycheck game?

Byrne’s inbox must have been lit up after that 2019 schedule was finalized. Hopefully that disgraceful shite is coming to an end.

You know it was

1) Everybody who believes that it's not Saban that makes the final decision on football scheduling, raise your hand.
2) Everybody who believes that Saban gives a tinkers's damn about what other people think/want regarding the scheduling of Alabama football, raise your hand.
Now, I'm not seeing many hands.

Have made that trip to Indy. Fun trip too. You go through Nashville, Louisville, and then you hit Indy.

Ohio St is (5-11-1) against SEC

Average score: Ohio St 19.2 - SEC 24.6

In bowl games: Ohio St is (2-10) against SEC
Average score: Ohio St 19.0 - SEC 29.2

What's so fricking funny?
