Have they said anything about visiting tickets? I assume of course there will be zero (for all schools this season) but just curious if they happened to mention anything specifically about it

Nope - nothing. Also nothing about students or band or anything, though I did see Cecil expects there to be students.

have they already announced they are refunding season tickets already purchased, or how are they handling that?

quote:

Whether you request tickets or opt out, you will have the option to request a full or partial refund of any remaining credit for TIDE PRIDE contributions and ticket purchases. Communication regarding the refund request process will be sent after tickets are allocated. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to further support the mission of Alabama Athletics by donating all or part of your account credit to the newly established Crimson Core Fund

"Will I have the opportunity to purchase any road game tickets? If I did request road game tickets during the spring renewal process, what happens to the prior order and money paid?
Unfortunately, with the reductions in capacity across the Southeastern Conference, we will not be able to fulfill road game ticket requests. Therefore, any road game ticket requests made in the spring renewal process will be automatically added to the ticket amount to be refunded (or converted to a gift to the Crimson Core Fund)."

Wonder if they will increase it higher than 20% after Covid deaths drop off a cliff in the next couple of weeks.

Anyone figured out how the tier pricing works? Does it correlate with your current tickets or your tide totals?

Are masks going to be required? It's one thing to sit indoors in Mercedes-Benz at a constant 72-and-breezy, versus 95-degree heat for a 4 hour CBS 'thon.

Yes

That's possible, but the first home game isn't until October 3 and the next one not until October 17. So, while we've had some hot first weekend of October games before (Georgia 2002 comes to mind), it's not Labor Day Weekend bad. And after that, everything is in the fall.

All requests and price points will be fulfilled and assigned based on Tide Totals priority points.

Face coverings (over the nose and mouth) shall be required as a condition of all guest ingress, egress, and movement throughout the stadium, as well as any time guests are unable to maintain the recommended physical distance from others who are not in their same household.
Stadium workers and athletics staff should wear face coverings at all times.

So long as it's below 80 with wind, imagine it will all be good.

Not going to lie - I've never been more curious about the re-sale market.

I imagine those that "come for the party," aren't going to be interested. Figure it will be the football junkies that pack these stadiums.

Really hate this for college football. The thing that makes college football so fun isn't the game - it's everything around it. Eating breakfast at Rama Jama's, heading to the tailgate 4 hours early, poppin' by a packed Gallette's to that little corner-cash bar for one last drink before the game... the noise, the sounds... I'm going to miss it all.

students
quote:

A reduced-capacity student section is also being allocated across each class. Seniors will receive 40 percent of the available seats, followed by the juniors (20 percent), the sophomores (15), the freshmen (15) and graduate and/or professional students (10). All student tickets will be priced at $20 per game, and each student will be able to attend only two games.

After the opt-in period closes, seats will be allocated by credit hour within each class. The first 40% of the section will be assigned to seniors in order of most UA credit hours earned to fewest. Then, 20% of the section will be assigned to juniors in the same manner, and so on. If a single class does not combine to request as many tickets as the class is allocated, the remaining seats will be given to the next highest class level. Whether you receive a ticket will be determined by your class level, your credit hours earned, and the number of students within your class who also request a ticket to the same game. If a credit hour tiebreaker is needed within a specific class, a random lottery will determine which of the tied students receive a ticket.

Postseason ticket availability will be communicated at a later date if Alabama is likely to participate in a postseason game. In that scenario, priority access to postseason tickets would be determined by UA credit hours earned since Tide Loyalty Points is suspended for the 2020 season.

Lower and upper bowl seat assignments will be based on UA earned credit hours among students who qualified for a ticket to that game. It is possible to receive a lower bowl ticket for one game and an upper bowl ticket for another game depending on the credit hour cutoff for each game.

The student section is general admission seating. Seats that are open will be marked with a sticker or tape. You may sit in any marked seat on a first-come, first-served basis within your assigned bowl (lower/upper).

Clusters of seats will be available in sets of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Cluster sizes are intentionally varied to maximize the capacity of the student section while maintaining group sizes and social distancing standards that adhere to current health guidelines.

With 20% capacity BDS will sound like a visitation at a funeral home. It’s already fairly quiet at 100k+.

Is this indefinite or did they suggest there could be a plan in place to phase up attendance if COVID continues to plummet?
