Bama defense is good. Do they have a chance?

That was a good game. Hardly anyone have Bama a chance. Bama ran Miami out of the stadium that night.

Oliver had them beat when he lined up all 11 guys on the line of scrimmage and got into Torretta's head.

I heard that Lamar Thomas is the fastest player in CFB; those slow Bama D players have know chance to keep up with him.

That game broke the Canes decade long dominance/swagger.
They wouldn't have another big season till like year 2000.

I thought I was going to lose my brother the day of this game.

We were at our hunting lodge in South Alabama. Had just gotten back in from the morning hunt and were eating breakfast. My brother wasn't happy with the reception and placed his milk glass on top of the TV as he commenced with trying to fix it. Needless to say, a couple of bangs on the side of the old shitty satellite fed box TV later, the milk spilled and shorted it out.

The initial arse whipping was bad. And, there was talk that 15 was long enough for any boy to live. But, several hours of him holding a hair dryer to the TV later and all was well.

Tremendous game and feeling. That game, the 2009 SEC CG, and the following NCG are 3 of my favorite sports memories of all time.

My brother surviving to live another day when Dad and Uncles were contemplating otherwise was just icing on the cake.

Yep Miami had been spiralling out of control after Jimmy Johnson left. Bama exposed the rot in epic fashion. LINK /

That game was never in the 30 for 30. They never ask Lamar Thomas what he thought of getting run down and striped by Teauge...

Had there not been a penalty on that play, it would be one of the greatest of all time.

In fact, Teague's two most memorable plays were not official plays.

The 30 for 30 was ok, but the ending should've mentioned that game and when they got waxed by Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl. It tried to blame Butch Davis for Miami's decline somehow iirc; inherited a program that had veered out of control and gotten bitch slapped by the NCAA: of course his first few years were going to be rough. He cleaned up the program and laid the foundation for their 2001 team, they just made a lazy hire to replace him in Coker

That was from your article. Between that and his Ole Miss debacle, Coach O has absolutely redeemed himself and become a championship coach. Those two things had to be very low points for the man. Yet he did not quit. I love seeing things like that; people overcoming hardships. Well done, Coach O!

Yep even the coaching staff at Miami was out of control. I believe that Sugar Bowl was CEO's last game with Miami, he took some time off from coaching and landed a role with USC and Pete Carroll. Great example of someone who grew tremendously personally and professionally through some serious setbacks
