Alabama Vs Georgia - The Transitive Property Analysis [Part II]

Now that we have an additional common opponent after the Auburn game-
From last week:
These two teams have three (now four) common opponents at this point, and after next week, will have four common opponents for analysis (now updated below).
The transitive property is debunked, in general, but when you have a large body of common opponents, the transitive property becomes more legitimate.
Common opponents-
Florida
Tennessee
Arkansas
Auburn (after next week).
Updated for Auburn below
Against common opponents so far- (updated for Auburn stats)
UGA has given up 34 points.
Bama has given up 110 points.
UGA has scored 146 points.
Bama has scored 149 points.
Initial conclusion is both offenses are on par with each other. The defenses are the big difference.
Discuss.

Bama's defense has gotten better the last few games.

All you need to know is Bennett vs Young...
If either has a bad game the other team will win.

This is the most confident I've felt playing Bama. Bama had amazing offensive lines the last few times, but now their offensive line isn't what it used to be. Our front 7 is the best in the country. Still, it's Bama, and until we actually beat them and get the monkey off our back, I won't be fully confident.

The key to the game is whether Stetson and the UGA offense can pass when the other teams know they are going to pass. They haven't really had to do that since the first game, but Alabama's run defense is legitimately elite and UGA is going to have a tough time running successfully and getting into easy passing downs. The only team that have run for 100+ yards and 3+ YPA was Florida, and that was 2 months ago with a QB run scheme going up against a green OLB who continually guessed wrong on read plays.
Miami - 31 attempts for 87 yds (2.81)
Ole Miss - 34 attempts for 78 yds (2.29)
A&M - 27 attempts for 94 yds (3.48)
MSU - 19 attempts for -1 yds (-0.05)
VOLS - 27 attempts for 65 yds (2.41)
LSU - 40 attempts for 109 yds (2.73)
Arkansas - 42 attempts for 110 yds (2.62)
Auburn - 40 attempts for 22 yds (0.55)
I have no clue what we do on offense. Probably nothing effectively. I'm guessing our only route to victory is to hit 1 or 2 huge plays and then steal a score or two on short fields if we can force 3 and outs.

Better wrap Bryce in bubble wrap before the kickoff

Exactly what Ive been saying. Let's see what Stetson Bennett does UGA can't line up and get 4 and 5 yards a rush.
The real Stetson will show up and Kirby won't put in JT.

Transitive properties in CFB is fools gold. It’s about matchups. See Ohio State/Michigan State/Michigan.

I think the deciding factor will be what Georgia does if Alabama shows up and manages to get a lead early on.
Playing from behind and in a close game is way different than the blowouts Georgia had been used to.
The first quarter of the game will be critical, and Saban won’t roll over even if Georgia pulls ahead early.

Bryce has gotten hit all year and hasn't missed a snap. Dude is a lot tougher than anyone gave him credit for preseason.

We are going to do a lot of short passes on 1st and 2nd down to the TEs and RBs IMO

Yea I definitely can see that - or bubbles or quick routes. Bowers all over the place. Lots of matchup calls for Cook on a LB. Monken will have a good plan.
BoB will run 65 plays out of 4 wide straight shotgun snap with no motion and no movement of the pocket. SHOULD BE AWESOME!

Are you still predicting a 38-20 Bama win?

Want to know how I know you haven’t watched UGA football all year?
