I don't see this as a USC type beating last year. FSU has a good defense and one of the best QBs in football. Turnovers are key.

I think it will be a great game. Give me Bama 31-27.

Bama holds them to another FG on one of those scores.

31-23 Bama!

Everyone look at this idiot.

2011 Bama lost 4 defenders that were picked within the first 35 picks of the NFL draft and 9 starters overall. 2012 Bama had the best defense in the country again. I shouldn't be shocked people like you are living on a prayer though.

Yea, definitely not one of those.

I think it will be a lot like our game with Virginia Tech in 2009 (10-3, finished #10). If Francois hits big throws and/or we turn the ball over FSU has a chance. I don't think they will run and I think we will hit him a lot. They have playmakers on defense, so a pick 6 here or fumble to the house there and the game is totally different.

We'll see. If turnovers are even I think we have a pretty good shot to win.

The game will come down to 2 things:

The poise of Francois. If he has time, he is a good QB and could throw for 250+ on Bama. The good news is that Bama lost alot of their premier pass rushers, the bad news is that FSU's O-line is not good. Jimbo is a good play caller and will do things to avoid or slow down the Bama rush, but Francois has to make some plays. If he throws more than 1 INT, they don't stand a chance.

Bama establishing the running game. FSU has a really good secondary, so I don't expect Bama to throw the ball much at all. FSU has the athletes to stop all the lateral stuff just like LSU did last year. Can FSU run right at FSU though? If they can, FSU doesn't stand a chance.

I'm going with FSU over Bama 24-20. Bama will win TOP and total yards, but Hurts has 2 crucial turnovers, a pick and a fumble.

You do know you don't know what you're talking about, right? Bama gets back most of their secondary, Daron Payne up front and their ILB 's either started or played a ton.

Exactly! PS ranks Bama's defensive units nationally thusly:

DL#6
LB#1
DB#2

Edit: Related. Ranks FSU offensive units thusly:

OL#22
QB#10
WR#18
RB#9

Very skewed numbers. Francois threw the ball far more often than Hurts under worse conditions. You are stupid as hell if you think for one second that Hurts is a better passer than Francois.

I think Bama wins. I'm expecting a somewhat boring game. I really can't remember any of these opening games Bama has played in being all that exciting. Michigan was I guess because we whooped up on them pretty good. And I guess that first Clemson game in 2008.

If Alabama loses then the dynasty will almost be over

This was said after the loss to OSU in the playoffs. Won the natty the next year.

I'm not drinking the koolaid that a lot of the fans are. The OL will once again be a weak link, Jimbo's offenses in the first half rarely know what the frick they're doing, and despite insane talent on defense, Charles Kelly didn't just wake and become a good or even competent DC. It took a near revolt from the players last year to simply get him to blitz more and play man to man coverage. The game will be close and nearly a draw for most of it but Pruitt's defense will have a big turnover, and Hurts will find a WR running completely alone on at least one PA.

Bamas front 7 is not a strength as of now. Yalls secondary is actually your defensive strength to start the year

Secondary is where the returning starters are, but the front 7 played a ton of quality snaps last year and were exceptional...fact is, nobody ran against Alabama last year regardless of which unit was on the field, so...
