he old system worked better for Bama because Saban could offer the NFL in three years. Now recruits will be concerned with what you can offer now. Plus everyone knew what was going on behind the curtains with certain recruits. Now everyone is on the same level.

The BAMA players already have a game plan to help manage the money coming from big business. Once that gets plugged in BAMA can once again get on with the more important business of winning NCs.

No point in fighting progress when you can just make plans to do it better than everyone else.

What Bama player would be used by Big Business and how? Like I said on a National Leve maybe one or two players will be effected. The payoff is at the local level. There is plenty of money to go around for most programs.

Will be funny to see the revolt that happens when very few players are paid. The rest will refuse to play sooner or later.... book it.

Nothing about this sounds overly complicated to me. The University of Alabama is offering players a new branding platform. "The Advantage" will give student-athletes the education and tools necessary to build and evaluate their PERSONAL BRANDS.

Which in turn will work in unison with the governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, who signed a name and likeness bill that allows players to profit from endorsement deals starting July 1.

More specifically, "The Advantage" will focus on brand management, maximizing personal social media platforms, and financial literacy.

What's so hard to comprehend here?

This fiasco will just crack the door to the deluge of underhanded dealing that's going to eventually take place after this goes into effect.
When money enters the picture, there are no holds barred!

Maybe. But the horse is out of the barn and BAMA is going to try to work within the system they inherited.

BAMA online guys gave some scenarios of what this stuff would look like.
Suppose Bryce Young holds a camp in California. He might charge 50 bucks a head. He might have 500 kids there. That's 25,000 dollars and it's all his. The University CANNOT negotiate these camps or any deal, period. They can only help each player to grow his brand and then it becomes a player/big business issue. So if State Farm, car company, whatever business can work out with the player and money involved for their personal endorsement, so be it.

Very few players will be in demand.... does anyone think the right guard will be a hot commodity ? Yet he's busting his hump just like the stars and getting nothing. That won't last long. Especially with a lot of the current generation only worried about " me ".

How do you know? The whole point of Advantage is to show the players how to build up their brand. They are going to learn to use social media and branding techniques that will help each player to look a little sexier.

The players are allowed to hire their own agents. These agents will facilitate these deals. Some of these agents could even negotiate with an entire starting offensive line to promote a local eatery. All things are possible and my guess is that any die-hard football fan would get a kick out of seeing that type of promotion of their football team.

Entire offensive line.... thought of that, that might work occasionally, if they're really good. But most of these guys won't be in on the big bucks.

Nobody said it was complicated. In fact it is very simple, but destructive. Like I said who on any team will be market Nationally ? The money will be with local advertising and that is where it will be abused. The "Advantage" program like others will eventually be used as a conduit for the abuse. You know eventually these players will have an agent to find them the work.

Pay attention to Nascar here. The fans will literally buy almost any product their favorite driver will slap on their car and driving suit. Anything.

The loyally comes from supporting the businesses that support their driver.

Any business that supports LSU football, not always individual players, will absolutely know the same is true.

They will make their money doing ads for Steak Houses or all you can eat restaurants. Local equipment rental places or any Big and Tall Stores in the State.

If any player goes back to their school, where they are local heroes, and holds football camps, how many tens of dollars are available there alone?

They can have an agent now to facilitate deals. That's a given. The NCAA allows

BUT, and a big BUT, big business nor any company for that matter CANNOT target future recruits before they get to their University of choice. Frankly speaking, NO pay to play here.

Once on campus "The Advantage" for example can go ahead and began to build up player's personal brands.

This will now give access to players with people who have nefarious ideas in mind. Wait until the first point shaving deal is linked to contact with these players. Limiting contact protected the game, it is now open season.

First of all that is naive. The abuse of the rule will happen and it will be harder to distinguish.

Your example of Camps is the perfect example. What would it take for a rich alum to sponsor 100 kids to a camp? Multiily that by 10.

Barring complete paranoia, "The Advantage" is there to educate. The NCAA is there to punish. Just like in the old days.

The " Joe Burrows " on the team will make 10 times what anybody else makes... that's the issue.

The only good thing about this is it gets out of control and Saban gets so mad at the NCAA he retires....

"The Advantage" is there to show these players how to hold a football camp. Nothing illegal about that. Having a hundred local kids hardly requires a booster.

You can spend your time with worst-case scenarios if you like, but commercialism has arrived. The smart coaches and Universities are going to get out front. Like ALABAMA.
